The Settings and Policies section of the Workspace ONE UEM console contains settings that can control security, behaviors, and the data retrieval of specific applications. The settings are sometimes called SDK settings because they run on the AirWatch SDK framework.

You can apply these SDK features to applications built with the AirWatch SDK, to supported Workspace ONE UEM applications, and to applications wrapped by the AirWatch App Wrapping engine. You can apply the SDK features because the AirWatch SDK framework processes the functionality.

Default and Custom Options

There are two types of SDK options that you can apply to internal applications, Workspace ONE UEM applications, and wrapped applications. Workspace ONE UEM identifies them as default and custom. For more information, see MAM Functionality With Settings and Policies and the AirWatch SDK.

Apply Options to Applications with Profiles

Whether you use default settings to create the SDK profile or use custom device profiles, you must apply this default or the custom profiles to the application.

For more information, refer Assign the Default or Custom Profile.

Available SDK Functions

There are many SDK functions available to apply to applications. See Supported Settings and Policies Options By Component and Workspace ONE UEM App for a matrix of all supported default functions.

Some Available Functions

Many functions control access to applications that use SDK capabilities.

Use the authentication function to set a passcode or a user name and password challenge to restrict access. See Configure Authentication Type for more instruction.

The integrated authentication function allows you to direct traffic through configured tunnels when you enter sites and corporate resources users can visit. This function works with systems to protect access like certificates. See Configure Integrated Authentication for information about configure the feature.

The data loss prevention (DLP) function lists components and actions to prevent or allow in applications that use SDK capabilities. See Configure Data Loss Prevention for available settings.
