Each ChromeOS device in your organizational deployment must be enrolled before it can communicate with Workspace ONE UEM and access internal content and features.
Enrollment occurs during the device setup of the ChromeOS device out of the box. There are two ways to enroll ChromeOS device into management, both of which require the device to start from a clean, factory state.
- Login with your Google administrator account to enroll the device- During initial setup, when the device prompts for a Google account, type Ctrl+Alt+E to enter the Enterprise enrollment flow.
- Login using Zero Touch – Certain devices models support Zero Touch enrollment. The device can be pre-provisioned to your domain by a supporting reseller, and when it connects to the internet for the first time, it will automatically enroll itself into management.
Once devices are enrolled, they will automatically sync into Workspace ONE UEM within one hour. If you would like to sync the devices sooner, you can click the “Device Sync” button on the ChromeOS EMM Registration settings page.
Device Sync and New Device Enrollment
The Workspace ONE UEM console syncs new Chrome device enrollments every 60 minutes. Syncing pulls in a list of all new ChromeOS devices enrolled since the last sync in the device list view. You can use the Device Sync option in the ChromeOS configuration to sync devices into the UEM console sooner. For more information on the ChromeOS Configuration page, see Setup ChromeOS Configuration Settings.
