Q: What are the available logging levels?

The following are the available logging levels for iOS and Android

iOS:

  • Logging levels are managed by Workspace ONE SDK.

  • Admin can set it in App SDK settings.

  • Logging levels available are Error, Warning, Information, and Debug.

  • Targeted logging is also available which allows Admin to take logs on a time-based.

  • Record Debugs log option available for iOS app users.

Android:

  • Logging levels are managed by Workspace ONE SDK.

  • Admin can set it in App SDK settings.

Q: What are the different options available from Content App to fetch logs?

The following are the different options available for the iOS and Android users:

iOS:

  • Users need to navigate App Setting > Support
  • Below option is available for users:
    • Send feedback (Only to the beta user)
    • Send logs to the admin
    • Email logs
    • Copy logs

Note - Once the logs are sent to the console or sent via email, they will be purged and subsequent Copy or Email logs will not work until new logs are generated.

Android:

  • Users need to navigate the App Setting

  • Below option is available for users:

    • Send feedback (Only to the beta user)

    • Email logs

    • Copy logs

Q: What is the minimum operating system supported by the Content App?

The Content App supports the most recent version of the operating system along with the two versions prioir to it (latest version - 2). The latest suported versions are as follows:

  • iOS 14. For more information see, refer KB article.
  • Android 10

Q: Are there any performance metrics available for comparison?

The performance metric is available for Sync & Download. Users must put files for Auto Download type on a requirement basis. We support up to 3,000 files for optimal performance. No restriction is recommended for the On-Demand Download type.

Q: Who manages Authentication for the Content App?

Authentication for all Productivity Apps managed by Workspace ONE SDK.

Q: Is the Allow Write deactivated for Managed Content by default?

Yes, Allow Write is deactivated by default. As a user, you cannot overwrite files inside Managed Content.

Q: Is the Allow Write activated for Local Storage by default?

Yes, Allow Write is enabled by default. As a user, you can save inside Local Storage.

Q: What are the Data loss prevention (DLP) settings available for the File level in the Content App?

The following are the DLP settings available for the Content app:

  • Allow Open into 3rd Party Apps

The following are the options available for iOS and Android:

Q: Can I assign files to multiple categories in Managed Content?

Yes, you can assign files to multiple categories which can exist at the Parent or Child level. Users can access files in the assigned category.

Q: Can I deactivate the (+) button?

No, you cannot deactivate. However, if there is no writable repository, + is hidden by default.

Q: When Allow Delete is enabled, can I delete automatically downloaded files for the NFS repository both locally and from the server?

If the Download type is set to Automatic for the repository, then you cannot be able to delete files locally as well as from the server from within the Content app.

Q: Is there a size limit for downloads and uploads to the Repository?

No, the Content App does not restrict any limit. You can set the File upload limit in Workspace ONE UEM and repository level by navigating to Settings > Admin > Storage > Storage Type > Content.

Q: Does Content App supports parallel download and parallel upload?

Workspace ONE Content only supports parallel download. Parallel upload is not supported by the Content App. The number of files that you can download varies depending on the platform.

  • iOS - 4 files at a time.

  • Android - 5 files at a time.

Q: Can I sign documents using the Content app?

Yes, you can digitally sign PDF documents using the PIV-D Application. For more information, see Digitally sign the PDF Documents using the PIV-D application.

Q: Is the shared Google Drive supported by the Content app?

No. You cannot access the shared Google Drive files and folders.

Q: Can I set a name for managed content?

Yes, admins can set the required name in the Content app setting. To do so, navigate to Workspace ONE UEM > All Settings > Content > Application > Workspace Content App.

Q: Can I copy, move, rename and delete from the server within the managed content, admin repository, and local storage in the Content app?

Only the iOS Content app supports the Dark mode appearance. To avail the dark mode, the user must change the device settings.

Q: Can I keep bookmarks and annotations after a file update?

No, bookmarks and annotations are deleted when a file is updated.

Q: Is Check-in and Check-out (locking the file while accessing it) supported by any admin repository?

The Content app supports Check-in and Check-out only for SharePoint repository.

Q: What is the audio recording time limit?

The audio recording time limit is 1 hour.

Q: What is the prerequisite for accessing the Content App through an extension(iOS) or Storage Framework(Android)?

iOS:

  • Set the Authentication type to None.
  • Deactivate the Whitelisting app.

Android:

  • Deactivate the Whitelisting app.

Q: How to enable Document Acknowledgment and set the timer?

To enable Document Acknowledgment and set the timer, follow the following steps:

  1. Add file to the Workspace ONE UEM with required flag enabled.
  2. Enable Document Acknowledgement in Workspace Content App setting in Workspace ONE UEM.
  3. Set the timer after enabling Document Acknowledgement.

Q: What happens to the Document Acknowledgement status if the admin sends an update from the Workspace ONE UEM console?

Document Acknowledgement gets reset on update and the user needs to acknowledge the document again.

Q: Can I use long names in the Content App?

iOS: Yes, you can use long names by acivating a key value pair. iPad users must to the Display option to expanded.

Android: Yes, you can use long names by acivating a key value pair.

Q: Does the Content App support split view?

Yes, you must drag and drop with different apps to use the split view. Also, you can use only one instance of the content app at a time.

Q: How can I deactivate the camera?

If you are an admin, you can deactivate the device’s Camera from the app SDK settings in Workspace ONE UEM.

Q: How can I deactivate the Copy and Paste option?

If you are an admin, you can deactivate the Copy and Paste option from App SDK settings in UEM. Copy and Paste works by default between the productivity apps as they share a common clipboard which manages by Workspace ONE SDK.

Q: What are the advance DLP settings available for the repository?

The following are the advanced DLP settings for iOS:

  • Allow Upload From Camera Only.
  • File Upload Limit.

Q: How can I restrict users to upload photos or videos to the repository only from the device’s camera?

This is only applicable for iOS. Using the Advance DLP option, Admin can enable Allow Write and upload photos only for the repository (this is available from the Worksace ONE UEM 2209 onwards). Users cannot create or upload any other file to the repository.

Q: Do we have any limit to upload photos or videos from the camera and album?

This is only applicable for iOS. Using the Advance DLP option, Admin can set the value minimum as 1 and maximum as 40 (Available from UEM 2209 onwards). By default, the limit is 5.

Q: How can I restrict users to upload any particular file type?

To restrict users, you must add a file extension under Allow List or Deny List in Advanced Settings as per the requirement. It is not applicable for Local Storage.

Q: What is the difference between default CICO and Custom CICO?

The Custom CICO allows keeping common files from Managed Content intact if it is downloaded by any user whereas Default CICO reset App completely on CICO. This is only applicable for iOS.

Q: What is the pre-requisite for default CICO?

iOS:

  • Users must enroll the device with Hub App using the staging user (Workspace ONE UEM console > Accounts > Add users > Advanced > Staging > Enable Device Staging > Multi-User Devices).
  • Check-In and Check-out with the basic user from Hub.
  • Files in Managed Content and Repositories are shown based on the user.

Android:

  • Users must enroll the device with Hub App using the staging user (Workspace ONE UEM console > Accounts > Add users > Advanced > Staging > Enable Device Staging > Multi-User Devices).
  • Check-In and Check-out with the basic user from Launcher.
  • Files in Managed Content are shown based on the user.

Q: What are the pre-requisites for custom CICO?

iOS:

  • Enable key value pair for Custom CICO.
  • Users must enroll the device with Hub App using the staging user (Workspace ONE UEM console > Accounts > Add users > Advanced > Staging > Enable Device Staging > Multi-User Devices).
  • Check-In and Check-out with the basic user from Hub.
  • Files in Managed Content are shown based on the user.

Q: Does the Content app supports Background Download?

The Background Download option is supported on iOS (Beta only) and Android.

Note: The Background Download option is present behind the Feature flag which is available in app Settings > Advanced > Enable features > Background Download.

Q: Does the Content app supports Background Sync?

No, the Content app does not support Background Sync.

Q: How can I revert back to the previous version of the file in managed content?

You cannot revert back to the previous version of the file in managed content.

Q: Is the RTL language supported?

Yes, the Content app supports RTL language.

Q: Does the Content app supports restricting of the Managed App Access option?

iOS: Yes, you must use the Content app version 22.12. For more information, refer KB article.

Android: No, it is not supported on the Android platform.

Q: How to get Crash logs?

To get the Carsh logs, you must Navigate to Settings App > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data.

.ips file gets generated for Content App if the crash happens - ContentLocker-timestamp-.ips. Check for the correct timestamp of the crash.

Q: What is the Workspace ONE SDK log file size limit for Apps?

iOS:

  • 5 MB
  • Auto Purge - No

Android:

  • 1 MB
  • Auto purge - After 3 Days

Q: What are the key value pairs (KVPs) available for the Content App?

You can view all the relevant KVPs here - Application Configurations for Workspace ONE Content. You must add KVP to the Worksace ONE UEM console by navigating to Settings > Apps > Settings and Policies > Settings.

Q: Can I deactivate the “Allow Saving to Other Repositories” option for Local Storage like it is for Managed Content and Admin Repositories?

You cannot deactivate the Allow Saving to Other Repositories option. It’s activated by default.

Q: Can I delete file locally for automatic download type?

No, you cannot delete automatically downloaded file.
