To know the AirPrint printer's information such as IP address and Resources path, perform the steps mentioned in this section.
- Connect an macOS device to the local network (subnet) where the AirPrint printers are located.
- Open the Terminal window (located in /Applications/Utilities/), enter the following command and then press Return.
ippfindNote: Make a note of the printer information that is fetched through the command. The first part is the name of your printer and the last part is the resource path.
- To get the IP address, enter the following command and the name of your printer.
ping myprinter.local.Note: Make a note of the IP address information that is fetched through the command.
PING myprinter.local (XX.XX.XX.XX)
- Enter the IP address (XX.XX.XX.XX) and resource path (/ipp/portX) obtained from the steps 2 and 3 into the AirPrint payload settings.
