What's in the Release Notes

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for iOS Release Notes provide information on the new features and improvements in each release. This page includes a summary of the new features introduced, a list of our resolved issues, and known issues. The release notes cover the following topics:

New Features

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.08 for iOS

  • Improvements to Deep Linking into Hub
    • Companies using deep linking using the bundle id for a new internal app would see the old details. Now the new updated details will be shown.
  • Improvements to the enrollment process when restoring from an iOS backup.
  • Dark Mode improvements
    • Dark mode will be enabled if end users have dark mode enabled on their device. If no logo and accent color have been set up by the admin, the default Hub branding will be used.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.07.1 for iOS

In this release, we have made an update containing quality improvements with no new features. Check out the Resolved Issues section for the improvements made in this release.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.07 for iOS

  • Dark Mode
    • Dark mode is now available! Dark Mode will follow the setting on the device. Configure this in the Hub Services console. If dark mode is not turned on in iOS, the UI in Hub will stay in light mode, regardless of Admin configuration.
    • Admins can configure different branding assets and accent colors for Dark mode in the Hub Services Console.
  • Improvements to the Startup process
    • We have improved the startup process to better identify what is occurring when Hub is opened.
    • Note: Since Hub 20.05 (last year's summer release), Hub REQUIRES that an SDK profile be assigned. If not, there could be issues where the Hub does not initialize and an end-user may be stuck at a loading/spinner screen.
  • Updates Section in App Catalog
    • Admins can now enable a section that displays updates available for native applications in the App Catalog screen.
  • For You Tab Improvements
    • Native UI
      • We are introducing a revamped For You tab experience. In this version, we switched from a web-rendered notification to a native notifications experience. This means that the experience in the For You tab is now more responsive and consistent with Apple iOS UI framework. Also, the data is cached locally so you can still view received notifications and those in the History section offline.
    • Attachments
      • Attachments sent as part of a notification can now be downloaded and viewed within Hub.
    • Links, Images, Video
      • Hub can now display a banner in the notification card containing an image or video. Link objects are also supported in the notification. Link objects are a new element that can be used to display one or more (up to 10) links inside of a notification card. To add one of these elements to the notification, you will need to use the banner or links payload in the body of the notification API call. These new elements are currently not configurable through the notification builder in the admin UI and are only available through API invocation.
    • Persistent Notification (Sticky Card)
      • We heard from many of you about the need for daily corporate communication during this pandemic. To cater to this need, we are introducing a new type of notification called persistent notification. A persistent notification is a sticky notification card that will persist on top of the For You page in the Intelligent Hub for a defined duration of time. Once the duration of time defined by you expires, this sticky notification card will be moved to the History page automatically.
    • Take actions on notification requests outside of Hub
      • You can now view and take actions on notifications without going into Hub.
  • Explore Tab: Support for more than 5 services
    • If an administrator has enabled all 6 services (AppsPeopleFavoritesSupportFor You, and Home tabs), Hub combines Apps and People into a new tab called Explore to adhere to mobile standards.
  • Passport is now named Digital Badge.
