What's in the Release Notes

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for macOS Release Notes provide information on the new features and improvements in each release. This page includes a summary of the new features introduced, a list of our resolved issues, and known issues.The release notes cover the following topics:

New Features

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.06 for macOS

  • Redesigned left navigation bar to display tab names.
  • Backend improvements to track VPP App downloads more reliably on macOS 10.15 and later.
  • Minimum OS version required for installation is now macOS 10.13 and later.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.05 for macOS

  • New Log Collection functionality for streamlined troubleshooting 

    • For enrolled macOS devices with 20.05 installed, the “Request Device Logs” option will be available under Device Details > More Actions in the UEM Console. Administrators can request historical logs or set a timer for collecting future logs.

    • Users can send logs by opening the Intelligent Hub app and navigating to macOS Menu Bar > Help > Collect and Send Logs. 

    • Log requests can be optionally customized to require a privacy approval prompt from Intelligent Hub from the user before the logs can be transmitted. This prompt will direct users to the Privacy Policy accepted during enrollment, providing details on the information collected.  

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.04 for macOS

  • Relabeling of Notifications Tab to “For You” Tab – Intelligent Hub will support the relabeling of the Notifications Tab to the “For You” Tab as Hub Services rolls out new end-user centric experience for notifications in the near future. With this update, the Intelligent Hub will be able to dynamically transition to the new UI. 

  • Migration to use only FIPS-140-2 validated crypto modules.

Minimum Requirements

  • macOS version 10.13 or later is required to install Intelligent Hub version 20.06.
    • Note: This is the first release in which macOS 10.13 is the minimum version. macOS 10.12 is no longer supported. See KB here.
  • Workspace ONE UEM 1904 or later for the support of Hub Services features.
  • Workspace ONE UEM 1907 or later for macOS version 10.14 or later Privacy Preferences (or use the appropriate Privacy Preferences payload). For more information on Privacy Preferences, see My Workspace ONE.
  • Workspace ONE UEM 1910 or later for the support of hubcli profiles feature introduced in 19.10.
  • The Intelligent Hub is backward compatible for existing features on older servers.

How to Download VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.06 for macOS

  • If your device has a previous version of the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub installed and enrolled to the Workspace ONE UEM 2006, then the application seamlessly updates over the existing Intelligent Hub application version without disrupting the functionality.
    • Automatic Updates must be enabled (default) in the UEM Console at Settings > Devices & Users > Apple > Apple macOS > Intelligent Hub Settings.
    • Note: The Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub version 20.06 is seeded in the UEM 2006 release, which will be rolled out to the shared SaaS customers automatically. The Dedicated SaaS and On-Premise customers will require console updates to the Workspace ONE UEM 2006 to receive the seeded Hub version 20.06 build. On-Premise customers can alternatively manually seed the version 20.06 onto their UEM server. The seed files are available on the Resource Portal
  • ​​If your devices does not have a previous version of the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub installed or enrolled to the Workspace ONE UEM 2006, then the direct end users can download the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub from the GetWSOne.com.

Resolved Issues

The resolved issues are grouped as follows.

Resolved Issues for VMWare Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.06 for macOS
  • HUBM-2298 - Fixed an issue causing incorrect application statuses for devices unenrolling and re-enrolling to the same server. 

  • HUBM-2398 - Fixed an issue where some crash data files were not being collected during Hub Log Collection.

  • HUBM-2408 - Fixed an issue where Hub returned invalid information for some ethernet LAN adapter types, causing some UEM Console API’s to return incorrect results.

Resolved Issues for VMWare Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.05 for macOS
  • HUBM-2331 - Intelligent Hub 20.04 for macOS shows AWCM status as frequently disconnected on UEM Console.

  • HUBM-2343 - Product Provisioning File/Action jobs that have successfully executed are incorrectly reporting status "Delivered".

  • HUBM-2346 - UEM Console reporting installed macOS software as “Removed by User” when Desired State Management is disabled, and Install Check Script is being used.

Resolved Issues for VMWare Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.04 for macOS
  • HUBM-2068 - Intermittent crash on system wake. 

  • HUBM-1980 - Issue installing McAfee agent via Product Provisioning on macOS 10.15 Catalina.

  • HUBM-2049 - Group ID shown in Hub is not updated when the device is moved to a different OG.

  • HUBM-2174 - Large Hub window due to encrypted user information.

Known Issues

The known issues are grouped as follows.

Known Issues for VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.06 for macOS
  • HUBM-1934 - Empty App catalog screen after long period of inactivity or system sleep. 

    • Workaround - Quit (CMD + Q) and relaunch the Intelligent Hub App. 

Known Issues for VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.05 for macOS
  • HUBM-1934 - Empty App catalog screen after long period of inactivity or system sleep. 

    • Workaround - Quit (CMD + Q) and relaunch the Intelligent Hub App.

Known Issues for VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.04 for macOS
