HTTP Support Deprecation
Improved security
If an organization is using HTTP connections, then the organization must replace the HTTP connections with secure connections as HTTP support is deprecated for Workspace ONE Boxer for Android.

SDK version upgraded to 23.01

Deprecation of Old Create and Edit Event Screen
The feature flag for this feature is deprecated and users cannot use the older design of Create Event and Edit Event UI screens.

Workspace ONE Boxer User Flows are now integrated with Workspace ONE Intelligence.

Support of device PIN for authentication
This feature allows an end user to use device PIN for authentication instead of the SDK passcode.
This feature is available when "useDevicePinForAuthentication", type bool, is added as a custom SDK setting in the Workspace ONE UEM console (Groups & Settings → All Settings → Apps → Settings and Policies→Settings).
Alternately, this feature can also be turned on using the "Use Device Pin for Authentication" option in the Workspace ONE UEM console (Groups & Settings → All Settings → Apps → Settings and Policies→Security Policies)
By default, the feature is deactivated.
To activate this feature, the value of the custom setting must be set to true.
Compromise Device Protection
This SDK feature removes Workspace ONE Boxer if a user is enrolled to a rooted device.
This feature is available using the "Compromised Protection" setting in the Workspace ONE UEM console (Groups & Settings → All Settings → Apps → Settings and Policies→Security Policies).
By default, this feature is turned off. To turn on the feature, the value must be set to ENABLED.

NOTE: If you want to use the device PIN for authentication instead of the SDK passcode, then ensure that you have Workspace ONE UEM Console 2209 or later as this console version supports the "useDevicePinForAuthentication" setting.

Android 13 Notification Permission Prompt Enhancements
If an end user has chosen not to grant the new Android 13 notification permission to Workspace ONE Boxer, then subsequently, at predetermined intervals of time and at specific contexts (such as on the Email and Calendar screens), the user is prompted to allow the notification permission.
Improved timing for reminder and notifications from Workspace ONE Boxer
Because of new Android 13 permissions granted to Email and Calendar applications, Workspace ONE Boxer sends reminders and notifications with more precise timings.
Support for Android 13 Per-app Language Preferences
End users can select a preferred language specifically for Workspace ONE Boxer which can be different from the system language or the device language. The preferred language can be configured in the system settings of the Android device.
Support for Android 13 Themed app icon
Starting with Android 13 and later and in launchers that support themed icon, the Workspace ONE Boxer app icon is tinted so that the app inherits the color of the wallpaper and other themes as chosen by the end user.
Azure Conditional Access Policies Support
Prerequisites:
An Azure tenant with the necessary licenses applied to the relevant users of your organization.
Integration between Microsoft Azure and Workspace ONE UEM console.
Fully managed devices deployed through Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub.
This feature allows end users to set Conditional Access policies and apply these policies through Workspace ONE Boxer.
To activate this feature, the account-level KVP, ConditionalAccessEnabled (Boolean) can be set to true.
By default, the value of this KVP is false and the feature is deactivated.

When using hybrid modern authentication, this feature allows end users to add shared mailboxes in Workspace ONE Boxer.

By default, the value of the KVP is false and the feature is deactivated.

KVP for Resource URL during authentication
AccountOauthResourceURL is a new, account-based KVP, of type string.
During end-user authentication, this KVP overrides the value of the Resource URL.
AccountOauthResourceURL can be used with Hybrid Modern Authentication when a specific Resource URL is required.

CBA (Certificate-Based Authentication) with Modern Authentication from Workspace ONE Boxer to Microsoft Teams and Zoom Meetings
OnlineMeetingsCBAEnabled is a new, account-based KVP, of type bool.
If the KVP is activated, CBA is used for end-user authentication instead of username and password when the end user is redirected to Microsoft Teams and Zoom Meetings.
Workspace ONE SDK is updated to version 22.6
Workspace ONE Boxer 22.07 uses the updated Workspace ONE SDK version.

BINXA-15861 [Email SMIME] Workspace ONE Boxer for Android does not fetch S/MIME certificates when archived certificates are uploaded with signing and encryption certificates to Escrow Gateway.
[Optional] KVP for Resource URL for ENS
PolicyENSResourceURL is a new, account-based KVP, of type string.
This KVP is used only for hybrid modern authentication with Resource URL and not the O365 URL.
When the KVP is enabled, administrators can configure a specific Resource URL.
To fetch the oAuth access token, Workspace ONE Boxer and ENS (Email Notification Service) must use the configured Resource URL. Hence, Workspace ONE Boxer must share the Resource URL with ENS as part of the register request payload.
Migration from App level to SDK passcode for standalone enrolled devices
Workspace ONE Boxer passcode settings are ignored for standalone enrolled devices.
Passcode settings are present in the Workspace ONE UEM Console SDK settings (Console at Groups & Settings > All Settings > Apps Settings and Policies > Security Policies > Authentication Type)
Administrators must set passcode settings in the Workspace ONE SDK SSO password/passcode settings for their users to continue using the passcode/password on Workspace ONE Boxer.

Accessibility Improvements
Debug Logs Pre-defined Recipient
Pre-req: managed account on Exchange server - On-Prem or Office 365.
When having issues with Boxer, this feature allows users to send logs directly to their IT administrators or support teams without having to know their email address.
This feature requires a new KVP, SupportEmailAddress (String).
An administrator can configure the KVP value with the email address that receives the debug logs.
Create and Edit Event Screens Improvements
Improvements in user experience when the end time or end date of an event is set before the start time or start date.
Custom reminders for the event can be created.
Multiple reminders for the event can be set for Gmail accounts.
Includes a new setting that allows the user to choose the mode for receiving an event reminder - email or notification.
Improved user experience when setting a notification for an event, based on the type of the event.
Sign-in Alert Message
This feature helps a user be aware of an Active Directory password expiration, or a password change.
An alert message pops up when Boxer opens. The message notifies the user that the user must re-enter the credentials.
The user is immediately redirected to the authentication screen and the credentials can be entered again.
Though the user chooses to ignore the alert message, the user can continue to use Boxer to preview previous emails, calendar events, and contact information. However, the user cannot perform server-related operations such as create a meeting, send an email, view incoming emails, receive invites for events, and so on.
SAML Authentication Support
Pre-req: managed account on Exchange server - On-Prem or Office 365.
This feature allows faster authentication process and less expectation from a user to remember multiple login credentials.
App passcode settings must be updated in the Workspace ONE UEM console.
