Workspace ONE Boxer 23.05 for Android - May 2023

New Features

  • CBA (Certificate-Based Authentication) with Modern Authentication from Workspace ONE Boxer to Microsoft OneDrive

    • EnterpriseContentCBAEnabled is a new, account-based KVP, of type bool.

    • If the KVP is activated, CBA is used for end-user authentication instead of username and password when the end user is redirected to Microsoft OneDrive.

  • Delegated and Shared Accounts Sync Periods Extension

    • The sync periods for the delegated and shared mailboxes and calendars are extended to match the sync periods set for the parent mailbox and calendar accounts in the Workspace ONE UEM admin console.

      (maximum sync period for delegated mailbox/calendar = maximum sync period for parent mailbox/calendar;

      default sync period for delegated mailbox/calendar = default sync period for parent mailbox/calendar)

    •  When a user changes the default sync periods for their mail account, the sync periods for the delegated and shared accounts are also changed.

  • Quality Improvements

  • BINXA-18414 [Contacts] Contacts' sync causes battery drain issues on Samsung Galaxy S21+ devices

Workspace ONE Boxer 23.04 for Android - April 2023

New Features

  • Create Online Meetings for Zoom

    Prerequisites: cloud ENS must be enabled.

    • When creating or editing a meeting event, users can create a Zoom meeting and add the conference details directly into the meeting invite.

    • A new Zoom meeting toggle is present in the New Event or Edit Event screen.

    • When the toggle is turned on, a Zoom link is automatically created along with the other meeting details.

    • This feature is activated and the toggle appears when a new, account-level KVP, EnableZoomOnlineMeetings is set to true.

      • By default, the value of this KVP is false.

    • When the user tries to create a meeting for the first time, user is prompted to authenticate in Zoom with their credentials.

  • Quality Improvements

Resolved Issues

  • BINXA-18098 [Calendar Invites] Response to a Workspace ONE Boxer email invite is not sent from a GMail account.

  • BINXA-18112 [Calendar] Calendar events after Daylight Savings (March 12th) for Mexico City appear an hour earlier

  • BINXA-18132 [Calendar View] Mismatch between the day column name and the actual day of the week when calendar settings are changed.

  • BINXA-18133 [Configuration Authentication] Workspace ONE Boxer prompts the user to re-authenticate when the work profile is turned off and turned on

  • BINXA-18135 [Email list] The indicator (blue dot) for an unread email in an email thread is partially displayed in the Inbox email list.

  • BINXA-18326 [ModernAuth] Workspace ONE Boxer for Android fails to re-authenticate to 21Vianet Office 365 when the password expires.

  • BINXA-17956 [Calendar] Few invite responses are listed incorrectly in the Event view.

  • BINXA-18017 [Email View] Email divider does not appear when an email is open in the Sent folder

  • BINXA-18081 [Calendar single event] Conference dial-in numbers for multiple events are modified when the conference dial-in number is modified for a single event

    This issue is observed only on tablet devices.

  • BINXA-18092 [Email S/MIME] S/MIME certificates are not listed in Workspace ONE Boxer S/MIME account settings unless deactivated and activated again

Workspace ONE Boxer 23.02 for Android - February 2023

New Features

  • HTTP Support Deprecation

    • Improved security

    • If an organization is using HTTP connections, then the organization must replace the HTTP connections with secure connections as HTTP support is deprecated for Workspace ONE Boxer for Android.

  • SDK version upgraded to 23.01

    SDK 23.01 introduces a Share logs option when the user is not able to authenticate in the Workspace ONE Boxer Server URL/ GroupID screen and Username/Password screen.

  • BINXA-17855 [Email] Junk files get attached to an email when the email contains a link to a shared Office 365 document

Workspace ONE Boxer 23.01 for Android - January 2023

New Features

  • Deprecation of Old Create and Edit Event Screen

    The feature flag for this feature is deprecated and users cannot use the older design of Create Event and Edit Event UI screens.

  • Intelligence User Flows Integration

    Workspace ONE Boxer User Flows are now integrated with Workspace ONE Intelligence.

  • SDK Upgrade to 22.11

    SDK version upgraded to 22.11

  • Support of device PIN for authentication

    • This feature allows an end user to use device PIN for authentication instead of the SDK passcode.

    • This feature is available when "useDevicePinForAuthentication", type bool, is added as a custom SDK setting in the Workspace ONE UEM console (Groups & Settings → All Settings → Apps → Settings and Policies→Settings).

      Alternately, this feature can also be turned on using the "Use Device Pin for Authentication" option in the Workspace ONE UEM console (Groups & Settings → All Settings → Apps → Settings and Policies→Security Policies)

    • By default, the feature is deactivated.

      To activate this feature, the value of the custom setting must be set to true.

  • Compromise Device Protection

    • This SDK feature removes Workspace ONE Boxer if a user is enrolled to a rooted device.

    • This feature is available using the "Compromised Protection" setting in the Workspace ONE UEM console (Groups & Settings → All Settings → Apps → Settings and Policies→Security Policies).

    • By default, this feature is turned off. To turn on the feature, the value must be set to ENABLED.

    NOTE: If you want to use the device PIN for authentication instead of the SDK passcode, then ensure that you have Workspace ONE UEM Console 2209 or later as this console version supports the "useDevicePinForAuthentication" setting.

Workspace ONE Boxer 22.11 for Android - November 2022

New Features

  • Accessibility Improvements

  • Android 13 Notification Permission Prompt Enhancements

    If an end user has chosen not to grant the new Android 13 notification permission to Workspace ONE Boxer, then subsequently, at predetermined intervals of time and at specific contexts (such as on the Email and Calendar screens), the user is prompted to allow the notification permission.

  • Improved timing for reminder and notifications from Workspace ONE Boxer

    Because of new Android 13 permissions granted to Email and Calendar applications, Workspace ONE Boxer sends reminders and notifications with more precise timings. 

  • Support for Android 13 Per-app Language Preferences

    End users can select a preferred language specifically for Workspace ONE Boxer which can be different from the system language or the device language. The preferred language can be configured in the system settings of the Android device.

  • Support for Android 13 Themed app icon

    Starting with Android 13 and later and in launchers that support themed icon, the Workspace ONE Boxer app icon is tinted so that the app inherits the color of the wallpaper and other themes as chosen by the end user.

  • Azure Conditional Access Policies Support

    • Prerequisites:

      • An Azure tenant with the necessary licenses applied to the relevant users of your organization.

      • Integration between Microsoft Azure and Workspace ONE UEM console.

      • Fully managed devices deployed through Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub.

    • This feature allows end users to set Conditional Access policies and apply these policies through Workspace ONE Boxer.

    • To activate this feature, the account-level KVP, ConditionalAccessEnabled (Boolean) can be set to true.

      • By default, the value of this KVP is false and the feature is deactivated.

    • Known limitations:

      The following are not supported with this feature:

      • Delegate or Shared Account

      • Multiple accounts

      • ENS

  • Shared Mailbox with Hybrid Modern Authentication Support

    • When using hybrid modern authentication, this feature allows end users to add shared mailboxes in Workspace ONE Boxer.

    • To activate this feature, the account-level KVP, PolicyEnableHybridModernAuthEWS (Boolean) can be set to true.

    • By default, the value of the KVP is false and the feature is deactivated.

  • BINXA-17625 [Contacts Search] Workspace ONE Boxer GAL (Global Access List) lookup does not return any results when writing an email in a Samsung device with Android 13.

  • BINXA-17441 [Contacts Caller ID] Workspace ONE Boxer caller ID does not show the name of the caller in Samsung OS 11 and Samsung OS 12 mobile devices.

  • BINXA-17429 [Email Search] When using the From filter for email search in Workspace ONE Boxer, search results also include emails which do not match the search criteria.
