Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.02 for Android February 2023

New Features

  • Add Access Point Name configurations to any Android 9+ Work Managed devices

    • Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.02 and onward supports adding Access Point Name configurations to any Work Managed devices on Android 9.0 and higher. Previously, this was only supported for Samsung Work Managed devices. This will be supported through Custom Settings Profiles as of Intelligent Hub 23.02. Future releases of the Workspace ONE UEM Console will support configuration of this Profile via a dedicated payload. Please see Android - Access Point Name Custom Settings Profile for more details.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.01 for Android January 2023

New Features

  • Enhanced Prompt to Meet Device/Work Profile Passcode Requirements

    • When the Device and/or Work Profile passcodes are not compliant with the organization's requirements, Intelligent Hub shows a screen prompting end users to update these. This screen has been enhanced to better explain the order in which passcodes should be set in cases where separate Device and Work Profile passcodes are required.

  • Prompt for Users to Enable Google Location Accuracy

    • When administrators enable location data collection from Workspace ONE UEM, Intelligent Hub requests that end users enable any required, missing location permissions. With Intelligent Hub 23.01, Workspace ONE UEM will also request that end users enable Google Location Accuracy. Enabling Google Location Accuracy allows Workspace ONE UEM to more reliably sample location data from Android by expanding the location data sources to include cellular and WiFi networks.

  • Enhanced failure scenarios for Hub Check Out flow

    • Hub's checkout flow now handles failure scenarios more gracefully by providing more information to the end user about what is happening and ability for the end user to take corrective actions in case of a failure.

Resolved Issues

  • AAGNT-195707: Android Hub shows crash logs in Android 13 during sampling.

  • AAGNT-196020: Reapplying the Application Control profile turns off previously installed system apps.

  • AAGNT-196199: Android Hub crashes when receiving notification from Verify (intelligent Hub).

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.11 for Android December 2022

New Features

  • Support for Shift-Based Access Controls (Tech Preview)

    • Shift-based access control enables admins to deliver a digital workspace that is shift aware. When a worker is off-shift, admins can configure to block access to Intelligent Hub app or restrict access to only specific features(Custom tab, Support, People etc.) in Hub, and restrict launch of web and native apps. This integration is enabled through VMware Workspace ONE Experience Workflows in Hub Services with WorkJam third-party time management and scheduling system to retrieve the data about the workers current on-shift or off-shift work status.

  • Terms of Use in Hub Apps Catalog

    • An admin can now define and apply Terms of Use (TOU) for the applications in the Hub Apps catalog. When an end user installs an application which is configured with TOU, Hub app presents the TOU which needs to be accepted by the end user to use the app.

  • Simplified Password Complexity (Android 12+)

    • You can now set the minimum complexity or Device and Work passcodes to Low, Medium, and High. These basic complexity levels are pre-defined in Android and are meant to provide end users greater flexibility in how they lock their devices and work apps. Advanced controls to set minimum passcode content and length are still available. However, these advanced controls are not supported in the Device Passcode Policy for Android 12+ devices.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.10 for Android November 2022

New Features

  • Support setting Domain for WPA2 Enterprise WiFi server certificate validation

    • Organizations commonly use Workspace ONE UEM to remotely configure devices to connect to WPA/WPA2 Enterprise networks. When connecting these networks, Android devices support verifying if the RADIUS/AAA server they are connecting through is trusted by checking its SSL certificate. Administrators can now specify a Domain value that Android devices can use to validate this certificate. Android only connects to the network if it can find a matching dNSName element in the Subject Alternative Name(s) of the RADIUS/AAA server certificate.

  • Support for viewing End-user Intelligent Hub Notification Engagement Analytics in Workspace ONE Intelligence

    • In this release of Intelligent Hub for Android, we are supporting End-user Notifications Engagement Analytics so admins can see how users interact with notifications that are sent to them.

    • This includes notification metrics like viewed, opened, dismissed, and actioned on. To enable this ability, admins need to authorize the Hub Services connector in Intelligence. Admins can then build dashboards to visualize the notification engagement analytics. They can also navigate to VMware Sample Exchange to leverage pre-defined notification analytics dashboard templates.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.09 for Android October 2022

New Features

  • Display Custom Attributes in People Search Cards

    • People cards were originally built with a set of standard attributes from AD (Active Directory). With this feature, admins will now be able to configure additional attributes that might be custom to their AD implementation. End users will now be able to see more attributes that are associated with their peers such as Slack usernames, Teams accounts, etc.

  • Disable TOTP Authentication screen

    • With this release, admins can disable TOTP Authentication screen from showing up in the Accounts section of the Hub app via a custom SDK setting: {"HubDisableTOTP" : true }. TOTP screen is also disabled for the shared devices.

  • Change MTD policy groups

    • Admins can now move MTD activated devices between policy groups without impacting end user experiences and identify threats per the newly configured policy group. This will help in instances when a user role changes in an organisation(ex: developers may need USB debugging while a sales executive might not need debugging capabilities enabled).

  • Samsung KNOX License Key Update

    • Intelligent Hub 22.09 uses new license keys to access Samsung KNOX APIs. The previous ELM License Key used by older versions of Intelligent Hub will be deprecated by Samsung towards the end of 2022.
