What's New

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for Android Release Notes provide information on the new features and improvement in each release. This page includes a summary of the new features, resolved, and known issues reported in the latest version.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.08 for Android

New Features

  • Generate Time-based one-time password
    • Customers who have previously used VMware Verify as their 2FA app will be able to use Intelligent Hub to get their Time-Based One-Time Password (2FA code).
  • Support for Survey Notifications
    • Users can now take surveys with different question types (NPS, free form text, multi choice etc.) within Intelligent Hub app.
    • Survey will be sent as a notification to end users on Intelligent Hub and end users can find it in the For You tab.

Resolved Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for Android

  • AAGNT-195390: Customer is not able to remove Samsung Knox Firewall profile from the existing devices and Intelligent Hub is crashing if we reapply the profile from device.

  • AAGNT-195013: Wi-Fi SSID Custom Attribute is not reported on Android 11+ devices.

  • AAGNT-194728: Applications not persisting after Enterprise Reset.

  • AAGNT-194623: Device Owner enrollment fails if Knox container is activated(A11 and above).

  • AAGNT-194075: COPE Device is not receiving the push notification when passcode age expires.

  • AAGNT-194941: Abandoned Android Personal Intelligent Hub Icon is not removed after upgrade to 22.06 under Profile Owner mode.

Known Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for Android

  • AAGNT-195391: GPS time does not update properly when Google accuracy is off.

  • AAGNT-195384: Inconsistency in Android location information that gets updated to the console.

  • AAGNT-195240: Hub App Settings screen shown on unenrollment - Work Profile.

  • AAGNT-195048: Unable to enroll Android 12 devices as Device Owner when Devices Enrollment Mode is set to Registered devices.

  • AAGNT-195014: Samsung device not factory reseting if Knox License key is incorrect.

  • AAGNT-194995: When setting up Android 12 devices via Zero Touch, the device hangs at “Configuring something spectacular screen” and completes enrollment only after device reboot.

  • AAGNT-193634: Android 11 - Android Enterprise user certificate deployment for Wi-Fi profiles not working as expected.

  • AAGNT-194365: Knox passcode enforce - Device is getting locked while setting the passcode in passcode with age scenario.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.07 for Android

New Features

  • You can now enroll and manage Android 13 devices through Workspace ONE UEM. For more information on changes in Android 13, see Getting Ready for Android 13.
  • Organizations can now delegate certain management capabilities previously held exclusively by Intelligent Hub to other Android applications. For more information, please see Using Android Delegated Scope Management through Custom Settings.
  • Support for Google Conditional Access.
  • New Source of Authentication switching.

Resolved Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.07 for Android

  • AAGNT-195041: Duplicate certificates are being installed on the Android devices through Profile.

  • AAGNT-194984: Hub crashes when SuspendAllapp profile is reapplied and the Application Control profile is already installed.

  • AAGNT-194854: On COPE devices, personal apps able to access files in Work Profile despite restrictions blocking this.

  • AAGNT-194769: With the Samsung OEM Passcode Profile, multiple image overlays not showing on lockscreen.

  • AAGNT-194677: Profiles not showing as installed after Check-in/Check-out.

  • AAGNT-194538: Check-in is not functioning.

  • HUB-7814: Launcher prompts to set as default on Android 11+.

  • HUB-7882: MTD related screens are still being seen even when the MTD is disabled in UEM.

Known Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.07 for Android

  • AAGNT-195384: Inconsistency in Android location information that gets updated to the console.

  • AAGNT-195048: Unable to enroll Android 12 devices as Device Owner when Devices Enrollment Mode is set to Registered devices.

  • AAGNT-195014: Samsung device not factory reseting if Knox License key is incorrect.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.06 for Android

New Features

  • We removed the 3-Character Limit for People Search:
    • People Search will allow searching with just one or two characters instead of the usual 3-character search. This enables support for searching names in logographic languages like Chinese, Japanese, etc. 
  • Workspace ONE UEM now supports management of Android GO devices enrolled in Work Managed mode.
  • In Work Profile devices, the Hub icon on the personal side is now hidden. A grayed-out icon will no longer be displayed in the Android launcher outside the Work Profile.
  • In Work Profile and COPE devices, Hub no longer requires Location permissions to install Wi-Fi profiles. Users with Android 12 devices in these modes will only see the Location runtime permission prompt if the organization is collecting location data from the device. 

Resolved Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 2206 for Android

  • AAGNT-194853: Users are able to Save files from Work to Personal even have restriction in place.

  • AAGNT-194823: Unable to enroll Android devices (Work Profile) - OnePlus.

  • AAGNT-194720: MX service is getting suspended on sending Suspend Custom XML Profile.

  • AAGNT-194675: IMEI number of Kaicom Android 9 devices is showing incorrectly on the UEM console.

  • AAGNT-194042: QR Code enrollment fails with RealWear device.

Known Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.06 for Android

  • AAGNT-194769: Samsung OEM Profile - Multiple omage overlays not showing on ;ockscreen.

  • AAGNT-194883: COPE- Clear work passcode is not working from UEM console and API is clearing device passcode

  • AAGNT-194728: Applications not persisting after Enterprise Reset.

  • AAGNT-194677: Profiles not showing as installed after CICO.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.05 for Android

New Features

Intelligent Hub can now suspend personal and work applications on enrolled Android devices. You can suspend some or all managed applications (Public and Internal apps) in any enrollment mode. In addition, you can suspend all applications in the personal side of Android 11+ devices enrolled in COPE mode.

  • Workspace ONE UEM console 2011 or later
  • VMware Zebra MX Service 4.8 for Android (If required)

  • AAGNT-194529: Launcher continues to prompts for passcode on click of back button during checkout.

  • AAGNT-194266: Restriction profile with "Allow Keyguard' disabled shows 'failed to install' on Android Enterprise (Work Managed) despite expected failure scenarios.

  • AAGNT-194271: Zebra WT6000 devices are incorrectly marked as ineligible for Android Enterprise migration.

  • AAGNT-194516: Serial Number not reported for non-GMS Android devices.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.04 for Android

New Features

  • Introducing support for Workspace ONE Mobile Threat Defense which protects your devices from application, malware, device, and network threats.
  • Apply Managed Configurations to Internal Applications
    • In Workspace ONE UEM Console 2109 through 2203, AndroidInternalAppManagedConfigurationFeatureFlag feature flag must be enabled.
    • Feature flag automatically enabled in Workspace ONE UEM 2204
  • Wipe the Work Profile only for Android 11+ COPE devices
    • Enterprise Wipe will now only remove the Work Profile and corporate resources from Android 11+ devices enrolled in COPE mode.
    • Changes require Workspace ONE UEM Console 2204
  • Automated Device Wipe for Offline Devices
    • Intelligent Hub now supports automatically wiping offline devices through Event/Actions. 
    • Requires Workspace ONE UEM Console 2204

Resolved Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.04 for Android

  • AAGNT-194062: Email address auto-discovery during enrollment may get stuck in some cases.

  • AAGNT-194102: Native Check-in Check-out functionality does not fail gracefully if the device does not support multiple users.

  • AAGNT-194517: Unexpected wipe for Samsung COPE devices.

  • AAGNT-194592: Launcher profile changes not applied.

  • HUB-4733: Hide E-mail and Phone Support data in Support tab if there is no valid data.

Known Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.04 for Android

  • AAGNT-194624: New Tab setting in Chrome Browser Settings profile does not apply.

Resolved Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.03 for Android

  • AAGNT-194067: User is being asked to enter credential twice when enrolling with Hub Services.

  • AAGNT-194070: Intelligent Hub not honoring the 'change device passcode notification' on some devices.

  • AAGNT-194208: Product installation status stuck in "Delivered" on Honeywell CN85 devices.

  • AAGNT-194216: Fully managed device enrollment may get stuck when setting up the device passcode.

  • HUB-6827: Localization not refreshing in the Category List immediately after changing the device language.

  • HUB-6959: Clear ForYou notifications that are tied to the Checked out user.

  • HUB-7290: Do not show an error toast if the file is downloaded when Installing file(.ica) during Virtual app launch.

  • AAGNT-194517: Android devices are randomly getting wiped in customer environments.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.02 for Android

New Features

  • Improved performance for installing Wi-Fi configurations on Android 10+ devices:  
    • This uses an updated API and is primarily to improve the experience for customers with a very large number of profiles who will directly see improvement during enrollment.
    • Since this functionality is core to the product it should be noted if you are using Wi-Fi profiles.

Resolved Issues for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.02 for Android

  • AAGNT-194054: COPE Android 11 and Android 12 devices fail to Device Wipe through SSP.

  • AAGNT-193582: Android Native check-in check-out incorrectly gives Null error when custom terms of use are configured.

  • AAGNT-194038: Android 11 COPE devices provide Gmail in Chrome incorrect access to enterprise information.

  • AAGNT-194063: Remote Management option disappears intermittently on Android devices.

  • AAGNT-194122: Intermittent slow product provisioning installation during enrollment.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.01 for Android

New Features

  • You can now access your Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Web bookmarks on your Android device:
    • This can be found in your favorites tab in the area called “Web Links”
    • You can also add your own URLs
  • Install a root certificate during QR code device provisioning
  • Allow removal of Chrome from Android Enterprise devices
  • Set Cross Profile Packages
  • Protect system apps from being disabled on add version/uninstall of Allowlist Application Control profile.
  • Support for the Clear Application Data command for Android 9.0 or later Work Managed devices.

  • AAGNT-193741: QR Code enrollment fails with RealWear devices.

  • HUB-7040: [i18n]The date format is incorrect in notification card.

Download Instructions

  • Prior Version is Installed: Direct end users to update the app when prompted. The application seamlessly updates over the existing application version without disrupting device enterprise functionality.
  • Prior Version is Not Installed: Direct end users to download it from the Google Play Store.
