What’s in the Release Notes?

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for Windows Release Notes describe the new features and enhancements in each release. This page contains a summary of the new capabilities, issues that have been resolved, and known issues that have been reported in each release over the last 12 months.

Note: Workspace ONE Software Distribution (SFD) updates are now listed in their own separate SFD Release Notes.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.10

New Features

  • In this release, we’ve made a few updates containing general quality and performance improvements with the following new features.

    • [Hub] New UI Framework for Intelligent Hub (WinUI3).

    • [Digital Experience] Utility tool to disable Experience Management Agent for Windows. 

    • [Digital Experience] Name update to Experience Management, previously Digital Employee Experience Management.

    • [Hub] Windows devices now support registration with Google BeyondCorp for Context-Aware Access. Device compliance states will be synced with Google to grant user access to Google apps.

    • [Hub]  Intelligent Hub will now show the number of unread administrator-generated notifications over the Intelligent Hub icon in the task bar.

    • [Hub] Intelligent Hub logging has been enhanced.  In addition to formatting improvements, thread IDs, error levels, and additional error information are now present.

    • [Hub] Support for Single Sign On using Kerberos - Windows Intelligent Hub now supports Kerberos as an authentication method for sign on.

    • [Hub]  Support for MFA when using a 3rd party IDP for authentication into Intelligent Hub.  Windows Intelligent Hub now properly supports Multi-Factor Authentication when signing into Intelligent Hub.

  • HUBW-13198 Hub fails to provision on template VM and prevents Sysprep from running.

  • HUBW-13109 An issues caused 2310 - [i18n]Hub to not be opened after performing enterprise wipe and reinstalling it.

  • HUBW-12831 The Backport Existing file on the Windows device is not consistently replaced by the “Force Reprocess” in Product actions.

  • HUBW-12588 Unable to uninstall/upgrade Hub affected by LiteDB invalid password exception.

  • HUBW-12419 Query Ticket was addressed to clarify if a specific format was required for the file names used in the product.

  • HUBW-10520 The Baseline Status was showing “Pending reboot” on Console even though it was installed and restarted multiple times on Windows devices.

  • HUBW-10387 The Intelligent Hub for Windows had an error regarding an Invalid Password Exception in Database.

  • HUBW-10248 The Intelligent Hub (via Oracle) was facing issues with automatic HUB upgrades after the console version was seeded to 2212.

  • HUBW-10125 Windows Scripts were not being processed on all devices that had an outdated Last Execution time and empty Log View options.

  • HUBW-10106 The ability to run Scripts as a user with admin context on Windows 11 22h2 was updated.

  • HUBW-9911 Windows HUB UI was not updating uninstalled apps post detection slot run and app sample.

  • HUBW-9501 Issues with "VMware.Hub.SfdAgent.DeployCmd.exe" were resolved.

  • HUBW-9154 Windows 11 wasn't showing Post Enrollment On-boarding.

  • HUBW-8246 The automatic custom HUB profiles for HUBW 22.03+ were having issues.

  • HUBW-7995 Pulling the variables for Shared Devices to run script on Freestyle Orchestrator caused issues.

  • DCP-6190 WS1 Intelligence/DEEM had High Volume of outgoing traffic to eventproxy.

  • DCP-5773 SSID was missing from Network-> Statistics Events.

  • DCP-5772 DEEM Network Data was missing from some MAC devices.

  • DCP-5596 The Windows temperature needed to be sent in degrees Celsius.

  • DCP-5428 [ESC] DEEM Telemetry Agent HUB 23.2.3 - An unexpected Boot/Shutdown degradation event was corrected.

  • DCP-5085 The Synth test failed to retrieve cert dates after upgrading to OpenSSL 3.0.

  • DCP-5044 The DEEM Agent was not reporting app metadata for Windows - App Change events.

  • DCP-4769 [DEEM for Horizon][UEM][i18n]The Client ssid displays garbled in the Widgets of WS1 Intelligence when it contains non-ASCII characters.

Known Issues

  • HUBW-13835 During Agent based enrollment, the Post Enrollment On-boarding screen may crash intermittently.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.02.8

New Features

  • HUBW-12867: Changed the default behavior to no longer set the Powershell Execution policy when using a BranchCache profile.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.02.7

Resolved Issues

  • HUBW-10890: AWACM Client.exe did not always receive response and it would freeze.

  • HUBW-10867: Catalog disappears when Hub UI upgrades to 23.02 and Agent does not upgrade.

  • HUBW-10754: Windows apps were not honoring the app deferral settings when deployed using Workflows.

  • HUBW-10755: Refactored BitLocker Logic to support the datetime type in invariant culture.

  • HUBW-10771 & HUBW-10768: The Workflow execution was hanging intermittently.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.02.5

New Features

  • In this release, we have updated the DEEM agent (DEEM 23.06) in the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub.

  • DCP-4390: Updated the way the network adapters are numbered for devices.

  • DCP-4423: Fixed issues from the dynamic change Log.

  • DCP-4544: Fixed issue where Publisher was missing in the app hang events.

  • DCP-4566: Added support on Window Server OS for the deem service with the Horizon client.

  • DCP-4588: Resolved an issue that was causing the DEEM services to stop after Hub was uninstalled.

  • DCP-4600: Fixed an error that was causing vmwetlm and vmwosqext to stop.

  • DCP-4654: Crash reports for Windows can now be collected.

  • DCP-4732: Resolved an issue that was blocking the Workspace ONE Intelligence Hub from obtaining system properties.

  • HUBW-10224: Fix a script issue that caused some scripts to not process the status of some devices.

  • HUBW-10387: Updated the logs to prevent an invalid password exception error in the database.

  • HUBW-10390: Fixed the Hub UI so that no blank screen is shown when navigating to Favorites/Apps tabs.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.02.3

Resolved Issues

  • DCP-4214: Improved the Digital Employee Experience service resource use when deleting outdated data from the device.

  • DCP-4280: Fixed an issue with the DEEM client failing to upgrade properly from an earlier beta.

  • HUBW-9682: Fixed an issue where updates were reported with an incorrect status.  This fix addresses a Microsoft issue with a WUA AP.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.02

New Features

  • HUBW-7942: Support for Hub targeted resources with no user session.

  • HUBW-5712: Added the ability to activate Hub Experience Mode at the organization group level.

  • HUBW-9129: Fixed issues in LiteDB.

  • HUBW-8141: Fixed the issue where HUB UI was not reflecting the system language upon installation.

  • HUBW-8353: Fixed the issue of failure to install custom settings profile targeting "com.airwatch.winrt.registryoperation".

  • HUBW-8420: Fixed the issue where Windows Passcode Profile settings were not honored by the device.

  • HUBW-8694: Fixed the issue where Windows Products had stopped updating file versions.

  • HUBW-8556: Made logging improvements to prevent bloating of Hub log files.

  • HUBW-8703: Fixed Windows device enrollment issues.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.10.4

New Features

  • In this release we have addresses several bugs that were identified in previous releases, and set a foundation for upcoming features in subsequent releases.

    • HUBW-8356: Updated LiteDB to the latest version.

Resolved Issues

  • HUBW-8486: A fix was applied to the Baseline compliance reporting. This was caused by an inability to create user process from system process.

  • HUBW-8521: A fix was applied to the Bios Verification statuses to correct an issue with sending incorrect statuses as a part of the Windows Security Information Sample.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.10.2

  • HUBW-8209: Fixed the issue of a user context sensor being removed on the full sample interval.

  • HUBW-7944: The enrollment status registry key value was not reporting accurately.

  • HUBW-8134: Windows Hub crashes during checkout.

  • HUBW-8201: Collecting logs from the accounts page and the system tray was not working.

  • HUBW-8120: Fixed the issue where workflows were not delivered because of the DSM failure.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.10

    • Support for ARM64 for Windows

    • Restrict simple pin/password for BitLocker

    • Support BitLocker Single Use Recovery Key (Requires Console 2210)

    • Accessibility improvements to make the Hub Catalog more accessible

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.06

New Features

  • In this release, we have made updates to both the Software Distribution (SFD) and the Intelligent Hub.

    For Software Distribution:

    • Support of Nomad 1E for enhanced P2P functionality

    • SFD Logging Improvements - Log collection restrictions that existed previously have been removed, the end users irrespective of an admin or not, can now collect the SFD logs locally from the Hub app.

    For Intelligent Hub:

    • App samples with no user session

    • Allow User to uninstall apps via Hub catalog NOTE:Requires Hub Services 22.07 release

    • Hub Web Links in Windows Hub

    • Bitlocker - The Hub now forces the end user to enter the pin/password in the Bitlocker pin/password prompt

    • Made improvements to Hub Logging NOTE:Log collection restrictions that were introduced in 22.03 release have been removed. The end users irrespective of an admin or not, can now collect the Hub logs locally from the Hub app.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.03.3

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 22.03

New Features

  • In this release, we have made updates to both the Software Distribution (SFD) and the Intelligent Hub.

    For Software Distribution:

    • We added the ability to track and report the status when a user uninstalls the application.

    • When a new version of a required app is installed, we no longer consider the older version as a required app.

    • We made some improvements to SFD installation itself.

    For Intelligent Hub:

    • We added Data and Registry Abstraction – LiteDB Migration.

    • HubW optimizations were made to prevent high resource utilization.

    • We improved the HubW enrollment resiliency.

    • We added the ability to use SHA256 signature for all WIN10 components.

    • We made improvements to have structured logging to the HubW, added consistency across several Hub components, and made security improvements.

    NOTE:  As part of new security improvements, when a user who is not an administrator collects the logs from Hub UI or system tray, a subset of the logging data that is specific to this user would be collected instead of the complete logging data which also includes the system logs. To get the complete set of logging data from Windows PCs, administrators should remotely retrieve logs by using the Request Device Log option in the UEM console.

  • HUBW-6348 The Freestyle Workflows Script throws SQL error on execution.

  • HUBW-6320 Baseline:JsonSerializationException: Error converting value \"CONFIRMED_INSTALL\" to type 'Core.Model.Status'.

  • HUBW-6686 AwWindowsIpc is crashing after an update on Chinese/Hong Kong devices.

  • HUBW-6867 New devices are failing to check out to the End user and sticks with the staging account after high CPU usage in DB server.

  • HUBW-6602 When Cx click on the custom tab created inside the intelligent hub, the page is opened in a web browser error is given: "Error! Do not use bookmarked URL".

  • HUBW-6850 Sensors report "Error" upon Sync.

  • HUBW 6870 Bitlocker PIN - unable to use the numeric keypad.

  • HUBW-6405 The Hub launches with PEO screen post update to UEM console and Hub itself.

  • HUBW-5759 Win10 - Applications are showing reinstallation in Hub over and over.

  • HUBW-6231 Fixed the Bitlocker local enforcement and increase the frequency when the user does not enter the pin.

  • HUBW-6185 The console always shows BIOS Verification Status as Unknown for Dell devices.

  • HUBW-6147 Launching Horizon Apps from the Intelligent Hub (Windows 10) is redirecting to an "Invalid Launch request, please contact your administrator" web page.

  • HUBW-5892 (SFD) Query | Failed to save Branch cache statistics error on last deployment log.

  • HUBW-6792 (SFD) Criteria for install complete - Reg DWORD does not parse properly for values bigger than 0x80000000 (Dec 2147483648).
