Workspace ONE ITSM Connector - July 2022

New Features

  • Added enhanced roles providing the ability to assign each Workspace ONE UEM action to a user or user group.

    • Now, each Workspace ONE UEM action is available as a role that can be individually managed and assigned to a user or a user group. This includes the following roles: Change Passcode, Lock Device, Remote Assist, Request Logs, Send Message, Soft Reset, Sync Device, Device Wipe, and Enterprise Wipe.
    • Some of these actions might be platform specific. The actions are available for those device platforms only.
  • Support for shared use devices by deactivating email validation.

    • When a Workspace ONE UEM action is triggered from within the ServiceNow Incident, the ITSM connector verifies that the action is performed on the intended device by matching the email address of the caller reporting the incident with the email address retrieved from the remote device. In previous releases, email validation was enabled by default and not configurable.
    • Now, email validation is configurable and can be enabled for additional security or deactivated for shared use devices which do not have a dedicated email address associated with it. Email validation could also be enabled, and an exception list of email addresses can be added, for which the validation will not be carried out.
  • Introduced support for the Linux platform on the ITSM connector.

    • Workspace ONE UEM actions: Enterprise Wipe and Remote Assist are now supported on Linux devices.
