Workspace ONE Web 23.09 - September 2023

New Features

  • WebRTC in Custom Tabs

    Users can launch the Custom tab using their native app and take advantage of the WebRTC features like taking picture using camera, taking videos, and mic access.

  • Android 8.0+

  • Workspace ONE UEM 2203+

Resolved Issues

  • ABRW-175474: Toast message for default zoom settings does not appear during Web first launch.

  • ABRW-175470: Print option not getting enabled in Kiosk mode when BrowserAllowPrintInKiosk set as true.

  • Localization related bugs.

Workspace ONE Web 23.08 – August 2023

New Features

  • App Experience - Configuration for page text zoom percentage.

Minimum Requirements

  • Android 8.0 and later.

  • Workspace ONE UEM 2203 and later.

Resolved Issues

  • ABRW-175419: App ignores web links when user relaunches the app after leaving the device idle for few hours.

  • ABRW-175349: Rage Shake switch is not enabled on updating KVP DisableRageShake from True to False.

  • ASDK-174648: Watermark for Workspace ONE Web App for Android 13 Version is brighter that it doesn't look like a watermark.

  • ABRW-175424: KVP to disable Rage Shake not functioning on fresh install/configuration

Workspace ONE Web 23.06 – June 2023

New Features

  • Configuration for page text zoom percentage.

    New Custom Setting has been introduced to set zoom percentage of text on webpage in range of 50% & 200%. Default text zoom percentage remains at 100%.

  • Standardise support options across iOS and Android platforms.

    Removed inconsistency for few Support screen options between iOS & Android Workspace ONE Web for Rage Shake.

Resolved Issues

  • Few localization bugs

  • ABRW-175320: Distorted Widget FTUE UI for Zebra devices in landscape mode.

  • ABRW-175345: Weblink doesn't launch expected url once Web killed and relaunched.

  • ABRW-175348: Dark theme is not honoured on the newly opened tab.

  • ABRW-175352: Default View as Desktop set on UEM Console doesn't land to Web

Workspace ONE Web 23.05 – May 2023

New Features

  • User Agent modification for Web

    This implements a new user agent string for WS1 Web without any reference to Android System Webview and thus extends support to CWS integration.

  • Improved the Favicon fetch request in order not to fail on custom servers.

    Improvised the icon fetching mechanism from custom servers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Android 8.0 and later.

  • Workspace ONE UEM 2111 and later.

Workspace ONE Web 23.04 – April 2023

New Features

  • Admin configuration to add a new Search Engine in Workspace ONE Web.

    This enables the Web admins to configure additional search engines (internal or external) in the Web. The configured search engines become available to the end users in the existing list of search engines, and they can choose to use them as needed.

  • Device widget for Workspace ONE Web Bookmarks.

    Now users can add device widget that can list the bookmarks configured in Workspace ONE Web. This allows users to launch the Web app faster in WS1 Web directly from device’s home screen hence providing quicker to access bookmarks.

  • Support for dark mode on Workspace ONE Web Android.

    Workspace ONE Web now supports dark mode on Android devices.

  • Workspace ONE UEM 2111 and later.

Workspace ONE Web 23.02 – February 2023

New Features

  • Support Enable shift-based access control.

    This feature enables the admins to put shift based access on Web which restricts the end users to access Web application on their mobile devices if they are not in their shift hours.

  • Ability to open and view PDF files in Kiosk mode.

    This feature allows user to open and view PDF files within Workspace ONE Web in Kiosk mode.

  • Modify Web user-agent to work with CWS.

    This feature allows the Web admin to use a new modified user agent for Workspace ONE Web which enables the VMware Cloud Web Security policies and restrictions to work within Web

  • Workspace ONE UEM 2109 and later

Resolved Issues

  • ABRW-174979: Share link action from another app to WS1 Web doesn't load intended link.

Workspace ONE Web 22.12 – December 2022

New Features

  • Support Custom tab protocol in Web

    This enables another mobile app to open Web custom tab without having to launch the complete Web app for use-cases like authentication and integrated browsing.

  • Certificate selector for IA/CA into MS applications using MS Authenticator

    This enables the users to select a certificate installed by MS authenticator on the device trust store to perform integrated authentication and conditional access into the Microsoft web applications.

  • Bug fixes and stability improvements

Workspace ONE Web 22.11 – November 2022

New Features

  • Support Web for Samsung DEX devices

    Support for Samsung DEX devices in both mobile and desktop modes.

  • Ability to add website shortcut on device home screen

    This will enable the Web end user to add shortcut for a web application/URL on the device home screen.

  • Watermark support for Print option in Web

    Web can be configured to show Watermark as a DLP capability on the websites browsed so that confidential data or information exposed through Websites can be protected. With this enhancement, the watermark is retained on the page even if the user tries to print it through Web.

  • Android 8.0 and higher.

  • Workspace ONE UEM Console version 2105 and higher.

Resolved Issues

  • ABRW-174408: Intermediate pop up for enabling location not appearing for Android 12 & 13 devices

  • ABRW-174659: Web app crashing on New Landing fragment.

Known Issues

Workspace ONE Web 22.10 – October 2022

New Features

  • PDF Viewing capability in Web Android for non-Kiosk mode

    Users will now be able to open and view PDF files within the Workspace ONE Web browser application without requiring a separate PDF viewer app to be installed on the device. This capability is not yet available for Kiosk mode.

  • Restrict upload & download based on file type

    This will enable the admins to control upload or download actions in Workspace ONE Web based on the file type being uploaded or downloaded.

  • Watermark support in DLP settings for WS1 Web

    This will enable the admins to configure showing watermark as a data loss prevention (DLP) capability on the websites opened through Workspace ONE Web to protect the confidential data or information exposed through these websites. Watermark support is not yet available when user tries to print a webpage, so print needs to be disabled to achieve complete DLP protection through watermarking.

Workspace ONE Web 22.08 – August 2022

New Features

  • Support user defined order for Web bookmarks.

    User will now be able to reorder bookmarks as per their preference and save the order for faster access to their frequently used or favorite bookmarks

  • Use first letter of bookmark title for bookmark abbreviation when there is no icon.

    Web now shows first letter of the name/title of bookmark instead of the first letter of the URL, if corresponding page doesn’t have any icon associated with it

  • Support for Android 13

    All the capabilities of Workspace ONE Web application are now supported on Android 13.

  • Android 13 and higher.

  • Workspace ONE UEM Console version 2102 and higher.

Workspace ONE Web 22.07 – July 2022

New Features

  • Support Web standalone secure browsing with CWS

    This will enable the admins to extend the security capabilities of Workspace ONE Web application running in standalone mode by applying the web security policies configured through VMware Cloud Web Security service. 

  • Enable in-app Play Store rating prompt

    This will enable the end users to rate Workspace ONE Web experience from within the application through the in-app Play Store rating prompt.

  • Workspace ONE UEM Console 2010 and later versions.

Workspace ONE Web 22.05 – May 2022

New Features

  • Bug Fixes & Stability improvements.

  • Allow upload of files from Workspace ONE Content repositories

    Users will now be able to upload files/documents present in Workspace ONE Content repositories or local storage to web applications opened in the Workspace ONE Web browser.

Minimum Requirements

  • Android 8.0 and higher.

  • Workspace ONE UEM Console 2010 and later versions.

Workspace ONE Web 22.04 – April 2022

New Features

  • Bug Fixes and Stability improvements.

  • Enhancements to IA certificate renewal option IA

    More intuitive messages for IA certificate renewal.

  • Integrating In-App update SDK feature in Workspace ONE Web

    This feature will allow a way for the admins to configure in-app update prompt for the users who have not upgraded the Web app to the latest Play Store version on their devices.

  • Option to renew IA certificate in Single app Kiosk Mode

    End user will now have an option to view and renew certificates in Kiosk mode as well.

  • Support to pull Web application logs from UEM console

    This new capability allows the UEM administrator to pull the Web application logs from a device through the UEM console without involving the end user using the device.

  • Support to send Web app logs to UEM

    End user will now get an option to send the Web application logs to UEM console through the new option ‘Send logs to administrator’ on the support page. This is particularly helpful in extracting logs from Web for diagnostic purposes when the Web is used in the single app mode.

  • Enhanced organization and discovery of bookmarks in Web

    The search in bookmarks now work across the title and URL. And the bookmarks are now sorted by default in alphabetical manner on both the bookmark launcher home page and the bookmarks page. This will now enable users to discover the bookmarks more easily.

Workspace ONE Web 22.02 – February 2022

New Features

  • Bug Fixes & Stability improvements.

  • Single tab Kiosk mode configuration to hide URL bar and/or navigation controls

    This will provide admin configurations to hide URL address bar and/or bottom bar (navigation controls and home button) from Web browser in single tab Kiosk mode. This will enable the customers to provide locked down full screen experience in Kiosk mode to the frontline workers to keep them focused on the workflow or task that they are supposed to work on through the configured web applications in Kiosk mode and minimize distractions.

  • Workspace ONE UEM Console 2010 and later versions.

Download Instructions

  • Prior Version is Installed: Direct end users to update the app when prompted. The application seamlessly updates over the existing application version without disrupting device enterprise functionality.

  • Prior Version is Not Installed: Direct end users to download it from the Play store.
