End User QuickGuide
This guide is designed as a quick-start quide for end users who are new to using XR Hub.
Introduction
- Ensure that your device and controller are suitably charged.
- Power on the device.
- Observe the VMware splash screen. If you are instead presented with the device manufacturers home screen, contact your system administrator.
Using your Controllers with XR Hub
PICO 4 Enterprise
- Two controllers with a trigger, a joystick, a grip button, A/B buttons, Home button, camera button and menu button.
- Trigger – interact with virtual keyboard, select application icon, hold on window to move, hold on window edge to resize, hold on web page to scroll.
- Toggle camera passthrough view by double-pressing A or X buttons.
- Joystick left/right on application windows scrolls app pages left/right.
- Grip button – allows you to grab onto and move windows. Grip button + joystick forward/back moves windows in/out.
- PICO Button – Press to get quick settings menu (alternatively, to go user menu in XR Hub and Select Controller Wizard).
- Camera Button - Press to take a screenshot.
PICO Neo 3
- Two controllers with a trigger, a joystick, a grip button, a back button, and PICO button.
- Trigger – interact with virtual keyboard, select application icon, hold on window to move, hold on window edge to resize, hold on web page to scroll.
- Toggle camera passthrough view by double-clicking A/X buttons.
- Joystick left/right on application windows scrolls app pages left/right.
- Grip button – allows you to grab onto and move windows. Grip button + joystick forward/back moves windows in/out.
- PICO Button – Press to get quick settings menu (alternatively, to go user menu in XR Hub and Select Controller Wizard).
- Back Button – To quit application, press PICO button for quick menu then press Quit.
HTC VIVE - XR Elite and Focus 3
- Two controllers with a trigger, a joystick, a grip button, A, B, X, Y buttons, a menu button, and a VIVE button.
- Trigger – interact with virtual keyboard, select application icon, hold on window to move, hold on window edge to resize, hold on web page to scroll.
- Joystick left/right on application windows scrolls app pages left/right.
- Grip button – allows you to grab onto windows.
- Grip button + joystick forward/back moves windows in/out.
- A/X button – double tap to turn on passthrough mode.
Meta - Quest 2 and Quest Pro
- Two controllers with a trigger, a joystick, a grip button, a menu/oculus button and two other buttons (A, B and X, Y).
- Trigger – interact with virtual keyboard, select application icon, hold on window edge to resize, hold on web page to scroll.
- Grip button – allows you to grab onto and move windows. Grip button + joystick forward/back moves windows in/out.
- Joystick – To scroll through applications, to scroll on web page, to move gripped window further away or closer.
- Oculus button (on right controller) – To bring up Oculus tray. NOTE: Select RESTART to return to XR Hub.
Setup
- You should now see either the VMware office environment or the 3D environment chosen by your administrator.
- If your controllers are not connected or paired to your device, a warning displays. Follow the instructions to pair or reconnect your controllers to the headset.
- If Wi-Fi is not configured, an alert displays. Select OK and follow the settings UI to configure Wi-Fi.
First Use
- (When configured with an optional Tutorial Video) On first use, you must watch the tutorial video to ensure you know how to safely use the device.
- Login. Enter your domain username and password by selecting the appropriate input field (pointing and pulling the trigger) and using the virtual keyboard (point and pull trigger to type).
- If this is the first time you are using this device, you are asked to “check out” the device. Enter your domain credentials.
- You are asked to follow instructions to set the device PIN.
- You are now logged into XR Hub and see your applications displayed in front of you.
Login to XR Hub
- If Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled, enter your pin code to unlock the device and start using XR Hub.
- If SSO is not enabled, a VMware Workspace ONE login window UI appears along with a virtual keyboard allowing you to enter your corporate credentials.
- Use the controllers and the virtual keyboard to enter your username and password / passcode for authentication. Select submit to login.
- If you incorrectly type your username, you see an option to Log In As A Different User on the login page.
- If you need to change the server URL for your Workspace ONE environment, move the virtual keyboard out of the way to select the Change Workspace ONE URL button.
- Enter in the URL of your Workspace ONE Access server.
- Select Submit.
Using XR Hub
- The application access window is displayed in front of you. All XR Hub windows can be manipulated in the following ways:
- Press the grip button (or hold down the touchpad) to grab the window, move the controller to move the window around. When grabbed you can also move the joystick button/touchpad to move the window further away or closer to you.
- Move the pointer to the corner, top, bottom, or side of the window and you will see a resize option, press and hold down the trigger to resize the window as necessary. Pressing the grip button on the corners can also be used for resizing windows.
- Application Access Window Status Bar
- In the top right corner there is an icon indicating which user is logged in. Point to the icon and press the trigger to see the following options, depending on device type.
- Reset Controller.
- Reset Boundary.
- Reset PIN.
- Reset Device.
- Logout.
- Privacy.
- About.
- Battery Level – Displays the current charge level of the headset’s battery.
- Date and Time – Display the current time as setup on the device.
- Changing your Wi-Fi
- Select the Wi-Fi icon in the Application Access window and then select Wi-Fi Settings to change the current Wi-Fi configuration.
- Follow the steps to configure the Wi-Fi.
- Select an icon to launch the application.
