What's in the release notes?

Workspace ONE Intelligence Release Notes describe the new features and enhancements in each release. This page contains a summary of the new capabilities, issues that have been resolved, and known issues that have been reported. Use Workspace ONE Intelligence for enterprise mobility management (EMM) planning and automation, to optimize resources, strengthen security and compliance, and to enhance user experience across your environment.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.10.03

New Features

  • Workspace ONE Intelligence offers a technical preview for the DEEM Guided Root Cause Analysis (RCA) feature.

This feature uses algorithms to speed up the root cause analysis process for widespread application and OS crashes on Windows devices. For access, contact your VMware representative.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-42443: Fixed an issue where the Start With/Does Not Start With operator in Dashboard widgets was case sensitive.

  • INTEL-42876: Fixed an issue where Workspace ONE Intelligence widgets were sorting dates incorrectly.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.09.12

New Features

  • Historical (time series) reports are now generally available.

We've activated this feature for all integrations that support time series events. Find more information in the Historical reports (time series data) topic.

  • Hub notification action is now available as an action when configuring automation workflows. Leverage the Hub Services notification action to target and send Hub notifications to devices about apps, devices, remediation resources, updates, and more. The Hub notification appears in the For You tab in Intelligent Hub.

Resolved Issues

  • We are always working to improve Workspace ONE Intelligence with every release. There are no major bug fixes to report.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.08.29

New Features

  • You can now add email addresses when you configure notifications for Automation actions.

When you want to send notifications about automation actions, you can enter email addresses if the address does not display in the search results. This behavior mirrors the behavior in the VMware Workspace ONE UEM product.

Resolved Issues

  • We are always working to improve Workspace ONE Intelligence with every release. There are no major bug fixes to report.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.08.22

New Features

  • You can now use the Data Range filter in dashboard widgets to focus on a specific portion of your dataset.

Saved viewing preferences only display for you, so when you save your data range viewing preferences, the saved view does not display for other users.

  • You can customize the color theme of custom widgets in dashboards.

You can customize the color theme of custom widgets, only. The system displays color themes based on who owns the widget and with whom you've shared the custom widget.

    • You can override a color theme of any custom widget shared with you. However, if you don't own the widget, only you see your chosen color theme.

    • If you own a widget where you have changed its color theme and you share it, other viewers see the widget's updated color theme.

    • If you own a widget previously shared with others and you change the color theme, the system displays the new color theme to other users.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-41914: Fixed an issue where automations were triggering when they were not configured to trigger.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.08.15

New Features

  • We have a limited availability release for Historical Reports.

    • For select integrations, we have a new reports feature called time series (also known as historical reports). This feature is currently enabled for Trust Network and Horizon integrations. With this feature, you can now select the date range and pull historical data in your reports.

    • There is a 500 MB limit for the CSV/JSONL file. If your report exceeds the allowed limit, Intelligence truncates the report.

  • We've udpated the App Activity data in our DEEM feature.

We added the filter Application Install Path to the Employee Experience > Apps category. Now you can see where users have installed apps for better software asset management, app licensing decisions, and workflow automation. Use this new filter along with the other app activity filters, App Name and Package Publisher.

Resolved Issues

  • We are always working to improve Workspace ONE Intelligence with every release. There are no major bug fixes to report.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.08.01

New Features

  • You can now select the download format while creating a report (by default it's still CSV).

Choose the CSV or the JSONL (JSON Lines) format.

Note: You cannot change the format after you create and run the report. This behavior helps to maintain the format and output when you share the file with other users.

  • For reports, the system no longer generates empty CSV files if there is no data available.

You might see the status as Failed in downloads if there is no data available in your environment.

Resolved Issues

  • We are always working to improve Workspace ONE Intelligence with every release. There are no major bug fixes to report.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.07.25

New Features

  • We have improved the Is Null and Is Not Null operators.

The updated operators can now target both Null and Empty values for String data types. If you use the Is Null or Is Not Null operators, you do not need to perform extra tasks to get this new behavior becuase the system updates the operators automatically.

Note: The results of reports, automations, and dashboards that use Is Null and Is Not Null in the filter may change as empty values are included or excluded.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-38466: Fixed an issue where certain dashboards for the Data Access Policies feature were not loading.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.07.18

New Features

  • We've added Notifications so that you don't miss any messages about your Workspace ONE Intelligence environment.

Access your messages from a banner or from the bell icon both at the top of the UI. Select the bell or banner to open the Notifications panel. See all new notifications listed. There are three types of messages, Informational, Warning, and Critical. From the Notifications panel you can interact with messages individually and mark them all as read, or dismiss them all. Don't worry if you need to access a message you previously dismissed.

If it's been a month or less, you can access dismissed messages by selecting the View All button in the Notifications panel. This action navigates you to the Notification Center. The Notification Center lists all your messages for the last 30 days. You can interact with your messages by selecting call-to-action links, or finding out more information about messages using the links for further information.

Resolved Issues

  • We are always working to improve Workspace ONE Intelligence with every release. There are no major bug fixes to report.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.07.11

New Features

  • We've added two new filters to use in dashboards, reports, and automations.

Use these filters to help manage your app licenses.

    • App Activity

    • Device Activity

Reports and dashboards configured with the App Activity and Device Activity categories can identify an app's installations and an app's usage data. App activity data can trigger automation workflows to perform actions that work for your DEEM environment.

  • Use the new App Last Foreground filter in your dashboards, reports, and automations to help with managing app licenses.

The App Last Foreground filter can help identify, visualize, and target users who have not used an app in a specified time period. Take action on the app usage data by uninstalling the app, reclaiming app licenses, or sending a survey to users who are not using that app.

Resolved Issues

  • We are always working to improve Workspace ONE Intelligence with every release. There are no major bug fixes to report.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 22.07.05

New Features

  • In your DEEM environment, you can now search for a specific user and view that user's details, experience, risk, and device information.

    • Search for users so you can quickly navigate to a device without needing a device name.

    • In the user's Overview tab, you can view the listed information.

      • User experience score

      • User risk score

      • Device list with links to device timelines for each device

      • User experience over time

      • User risk over time

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-40730: Fixed an issue where you could not view impacted devices for applications that were not reporting app versions.

We have made changes to app Insights to allow the viewing of impacted devices and have temporarily removed the automatic grouping of impacted devices by app version in the impact table.
