Verify that users and groups are successfully provisioned to Workspace ONE. Check to see that the users appear in VMware Identity Services and in Workspace ONE services, and verify that they can log in successfully.

Prerequisites

Make sure that users have been provisioned from the identity provider. Either wait for the next provisioning time or provision a few test users on demand.

Procedure

  1. Verify that users, groups, and group memberships are provisioned successfully to VMware Identity Services.
    1. In the Workspace ONE console, navigate to Accounts > End User Management.
    2. Click View on the directory card.
    3. Select the Users tab.
    4. Verify that the users you provisioned appear in the list of users.
    5. Select the Groups tab and verify that the groups you provisioned appear in the list of groups.
    6. Expand the groups and verify the group memberships.
  2. Verify that the users and groups appear in Workspace ONE services such as Workspace ONE Access and Workspace ONE UEM.
    • To verify users and groups in Workspace ONE Access:
      1. In the Workspace ONE console, select the Home tab, then click Manage on the Workspace ONE Access card.
      2. In the Workspace ONE Access console, select Integrations > Directories and verify that the directory you created in the VMware Identity Services wizard appears in the list of directories.

The directory is of type Provisioned.

      3. Select Accounts > Users and verify that the provisioned users appear in the list.
      4. Select Accounts > User Groups and verify that the provisioned groups appear in the list.

The users, user groups, user attributes, and directory pages are read-only in Workspace ONE Access tenants for which user provisioning is managed by VMware Identity Services.

    • To verify users and groups in Workspace ONE UEM:
      1. In the Workspace ONE console, select the Home tab, then click Manage in the Unified Endpoint Management card.
      2. In the Workspace ONE UEM console, navigate to Groups & Settings > All Settings > System > Enterprise Integration > Directory Services to view the provisioned directory.
      3. In the Workspace ONE UEM console, select Accounts > Users > List View and verify that the provisioned users appear in the list.
      4. Select Accounts > User Groups > List View and verify that the provisioned groups appear in the list.

The users, groups, and directory pages are read-only in Workspace ONE UEM tenants for which user provisioning is managed by VMware Identity Services.

  3. Verify that provisioned users can log in successfully to the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app or portal and access the applications assigned to them.
    1. Go to the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app or portal.
    2. Enter the user login and password.
    3. Verify that the login is successful.
    4. Verify that you can view and launch any applications assigned to the user.
  4. Verify that provisioned users can enroll their devices.
    1. On the user's device, download the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app from the app store or from https://getwsone.com.
    2. Install the app and start the enrollment.
    3. Verify that the user is redirected to the identity provider integrated with VMware Identity Services for authentication and can successfully log in and enroll their device.
