A USB controller is required to use a USB device in a virtual machine. You can add one USB controller to a virtual machine.
When you create a virtual machine in Workstation Player, a USB controller is added by default. If you remove the USB controller, you can add it back.
Prerequisites
Power off the virtual machine.
Procedure
- Select the virtual machine and select .
- On the Hardware tab, click Add.
- In the New Hardware wizard, select USB Controller.
- Click Finish to add the USB controller.
- Configure the USB connection settings.
