Remove a Virtual Hard Disk from a Virtual Machine

Removing a virtual hard disk disconnects it from a virtual machine. It does not delete files from the host file system.

After you remove a virtual hard disk from a virtual machine, you can map or mount the disk to the host system and copy data from the guest operating system to the host without powering on the virtual machine or starting Workstation Player. You can also add the disk to another virtual machine.

Procedure

1. Select the virtual machine and select Player > Manage > Virtual Machine Settings.
2. On the Hardware tab, select the virtual hard disk and click Remove.
3. Click OK to save your changes.
