About VMware Workstation Pro
VMware Workstation Pro™ enables technical professionals to develop, test, demonstrate, and deploy software by running multiple x86-based Windows, Linux, and other operating systems simultaneously on the same PC.
You can replicate server, desktop, and tablet environments in a virtual machine and allocate multiple processor cores, gigabytes of main memory and graphics memory to each virtual machine, whether the virtual machine resides on a personal PC or on a private enterprise cloud.

System Requirements
Systems using Processors (CPUs) launched in 2011 or later are supported, except for the following:
- Intel Atom processors based on the 2011 Bonnell micro-architecture. For example, Atom Z670/Z650 and Atom N570.
- Systems using Intel Atom processors based on the 2012 Saltwell micro-architecture. For example, Atom S1200, Atom D2700/D2500, and Atom N2800/N2600.
- Systems using AMD processors based on the Llano and Bobcat micro-architectures. For example, code-named Hondo, Ontario, Zacate, and Llano.
The following systems are also supported: Systems using Intel processors based on the 2010 Westmere micro-architecture. For example, Xeon 5600, Xeon 3600, Core i7-970, Core i7-980, and Core i7-990.

Product Support Notices
- Deprecation of the Shared virtual machine feature
The Shared virtual machine feature (VMware Workstation as server) is being deprecated. It will remain in its present form for the remainder of the VMware Workstation 16 product life. This feature will be not available in a future release.

Resolved Issues
- The Exporting Cluster Logs functionality in kind does not work
The user cannot use kind to export cluster logs for exploring.
This issue is resolved.
- Cannot power on VM running on the old workstation or ESXi server by connecting to the server
While connecting to the old version of VMware Workstation or VMware ESXi servers to power on a remoting virtual machine, the following error displays:
Unable to connect to the MKS: vim.fault.GenericVmConfigFault
This issue is resolved.
- Cannot start the virtual machine after upgrade to VMWare Workstation 16.0 on openSuSE 15.1 Leap Host
The virtual machine is not able to start. Every machine hangs at the "waiting for connection" phase.
This issue is resolved.
- Virtual machine won't start when enhanced keyboard is set to "Required" in VMware Workstation 16.0
The virtual machine boot up on the Microsoft Windows host takes long time and it appears as if the virtual machine does not start when the enhanced keyboard is set to "Required".
This issue is resolved.
