By default, vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR synchronizes vCloud Director organizations information automatically every hour. You can optionally perform a manual synchronization between vCloud Director and vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR.

By performing the steps outlined in the current procedure, you can initiate a manual synchronization between vCloud Director and vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR, and any recent vCloud Director organization creations or deletions are reflected.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR portal using System administrator credentials.
  2. Click Policies.

The Policies and Compliance Status page displays.

  3. Select a replication policy.

The Compliance status table displays. You see a list of all vCloud Director organizations to which the selected policy is assigned.

  4. (Optional) To perform a manual synchronization between vCloud Director and vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR, click Sync with Cloud.

By performing a manual synchronization, you also initiate the automatic assignment of the default replication policy to the newly created vCloud Director organization.

If you recently deleted a vCloud Director organization, the manual synchronization also initiates a cleanup of any leftover mappings.

If you recently created a vCloud Director organization and auto synchronization did not occur, the new vCloud Director organization is not listed in the Compliance status table and is not assigned automatically to the default replication policy. If you configure an incoming or an outgoing replication for a vApp within the newly created organization, the vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR solution treats the organization as if the default replication policy is assigned.

Results

The Compliance status table displays. You see a list of all vCloud Director organizations to which the selected policy is assigned.
