From the vRealize AI Cloud page, you can view details about a data center by clicking the segment in the circular graphic which represents the data center. The graphic in the vRealize AI Cloud changes to show you the clusters in the data center. The vSAN Optimizer on the right side of the page displays the score for the particular cluster.

Understanding the Performance Metrics of a Cluster

When you navigate to cluster from the data center that you selected in the vRealize AI Cloud page, you see all the information in a collapsible pane on the right, under vSAN Optimizer. You can expand the information pane to see more graphical details about how vRealize AI Cloud is working.

Cluster Information Page

The cluster information page displays VMware vSAN metrics in the form of charts and graphs.

Table 1. Cluster Information Page Options
Option Description
VSAN Optimizer graphic Displays the following:
  • Colored representation of the current vRealize AI Cloud optimization state.
  • A proxy score which represents the metrics that make up the VMware vSAN performance parameters.
  • A graph to indicate how the performance has changed over a period of time.
  • A switch to disable or enable vRealize AI Cloud optimization. If vRealize AI Cloud is already enabled, you can change the optimization approach. The valid values are Conservative, Moderate, and Aggressive. Aggressive uses the maximum caching memory in the VMware vSAN cluster.
Top Performers list Lists the top five top performing hosts in that cluster. For each host, you can see the historical change in performance in the form of a chart, and the current performance.
Bottom Performers list Lists the top five bottom performing hosts in that cluster. For each host, you can see the historical change in performance in the form of a chart, and the current performance.
Summary of configuration changes chart

This is the top-most chart on the right of the screen. It displays a history of configuration changes that vRealize AI Cloud made on the cluster, for a certain time period. The actions that vRealize AI Cloud took in that time period are displayed as discrete bars in the chart.

Each bar in the chart represents the action taken on a particular day. When you click any of the bars in the chart, a widget is displayed below. This widget shows the actions that vRealize AI Cloud took on all the clusters at different times in a day, in the form of dots. Click a dot to see more details about the actions taken by vRealize AI Cloud.

Latency chart Read and write performance over a time period.
Throughput chart Read and write throughput performance over a time period.
Summary of host performance Displays a list of hosts, their corresponding read/write latency and read/write throughput. You can expand a host row to see more details about the configuration actions that vRealize AI Cloud took over a time period, and more details about the host performance.
