Read about some errors you might encounter while configuring SaltStack Config Cloud and how to fix them.

Cannot connect a new Salt master to SaltStack Config Cloud

If you do not see the master key in the Pending tab in the Administration workspace, verify that the sseapi_server value is correct in the /etc/salt/master.d/cloud.conf file. The cloud.conf file points to your SaltStack Config Cloud instance.

If the value is correct, but you are still unable to connect your Salt master to SaltStack Config Cloud, contact support.

Cannot connect an existing Salt master to SaltStack Config Cloud

Salt masters that are already connected to an existing RaaS instance might not appear in the SaltStack Config user interface after you run the sseapi-config join command.

The sseapi_server value in the raas.conf file takes precedence over the sseapi_server value in the cloud.conf file. This means that your Salt master still points to your on-premises RaaS instance.

To connect an existing Salt master to SaltStack Config Cloud:
  1. Comment out the sseapi_server value in the /etc/salt/master.d/raas.conf file.
  2. Re-run the sseapi-config join command.
