Apart from the organization owner role, VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS) supports two default service roles from VMware Cloud Services - administrator and user. In VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS), the organization owner can create and assign additional custom roles from the Access Control page .

Assigning Roles
Roles are of two types - service roles and custom roles.
- Service roles

As an organization owner, you can add users and assign service roles to users from the
Identity & Management page in
VMware Cloud Services. In this page, you can also assign one or more regions to users.
For information about service role assignment, see How do I manage users in my organization in the Using VMware Cloud guide.Tip: To assign regions to a user, in the Identity & Management page, under Assign Service Roles, add an instance to the VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS) service and enter the following information:
- Select a region.
- Select a role to assign to the user in the selected region.
- Select whether you want to provide access with no expiry or with an expiry date. If applicable, enter the expiry date.
- Custom roles

VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS), the organization owner can assign additional custom roles from the
Access Control page. The organization owner can assign these roles for the organization or for a region within the organization.
