What's New in July 2022

Federation Entity Page Enhancements

  • Introduces auto-refresh functionality with configurable time parameters to automatically reload all widgets.
The Auto-refresh window displayed on hover of the Refreshing in 5 mins option that is located on the top-right corner of the Federation page.
  • Allows you to maximize Environments and Deployed Instances widgets for better viewing ability.
  • Supports NSX Advanced Load Balancer in the Environments widget.

Databus Enhancements

  • Introduces support for per message authentication through HTTPS header which is enabled by default for Databus subscribers.

VMware HCX Monitoring and Troubleshooting

  • Provides end-to-end network visibility of VMware HCX entities such as HCX Service Mesh, HCX IX Appliance , HCX NE Appliance, HCX WAN OPT Appliance, HCX Layer2 Extension, and HCX Tunnel.
  • Supports alerts, flows, and metrics in VMware HCX entity pages.

  • Supports guided network troubleshooting.
  • Supports configuration of analytics threshold events on HCX Tunnel metrics and HCX NE Appliance VM metrics.

What's New in April 2022

Troubleshooting Incidents

  • Provides the ability to directly edit the Troubleshooting Incident name in vRealize Network Insight Cloud.
  • Provides the following enhancements:
    • Re-centering of the dependency graph is no longer supported at every expansion.
    • Adjusting the sensitivity slider for anomaly detection does not collapse the entire dependency graph.
    • Enhances pop-ups for filtering and group by sort for entities in the dependency graph to provide more control to the user.
  • Analysis link is enabled only when there is additional correlation information available.
  • When viewing a Troubleshooting Incident, the second level dependency is expanded for the first group that has detected anomalies.

Troubleshooting Incidents

  • Introduces the Federation page with vRealize Network Insight Universal licensing that delivers a consolidated catalogue of IT services. The Federation page delivers services and seamlessly manage your vRealize Network Insight on-premises and cloud environments with a unified view and control.
  • Introduces Troubleshooting Incidents that builds a dependency tree for Applications, VMs, and Threshold alerts and provides the ability to:
    • Navigate and curate metrics, anomalies, and alerts without using any search queries
    • Start from Application, VM, NSX-T, and Threshold alerts and re-use existing sessions
    • Navigate the dependency graph
    • Set sensitivity for anomaly detection and displays correlated metrics or single-metric anomaly
    • Add notes for collaboration
    • Adjust the time range
    • Filter anomalies and flagged metrics
  • Introduces the Troubleshooting Incidents page that manages all the troubleshooting incidents and displays all open sessions by type and root cause. This page provides the ability to:
    • Delete and share sessions
    • Start new sessions from the Troubleshooting Incidents page
    • View notes in incidents
    • View root-cause metrics flagged in a incident
