Enriching Flows and IP Endpoints

You can import the DNS mapping and the subnet-VLAN mapping information through the UI.

The flow information is enriched with the following types of information based on the import of the DNS data and the specification of subnet-VLAN mappings.

• Source DNS Domain
• Source DNS Host Name
• Destination DNS Domain
• Destination DNS Host Name
• Source L2 Network
• Source Subnet network
• Destination L2 Network
• Destination Subnet network

The IP Endpoint information is enriched with the following types of information based on the import of the DNS data and the specification of subnet-VLAN mappings.

• DNS Domain
• DNS Host Name
• FQDN
• L2 Network
• Subnet network

Note:

• The DNS mapping and subnet information are enhanced only for the physical IPs. No subnet or DNS mapping information is associated with any vNIC.
• The information is enriched only for flows that have been seen by vRealize Network Insight after this information has been imported.
