Before You Begin

This section describes the prerequisites and the download instructions you should know before installing the software. If the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA is not connected to the Internet, you can download this patch by going to the  VMware Patch Download Center and select vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager from the Search by Product drop-down menu. 

When vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA is not connected to the Internet, perform the following steps.

  1. Verify that you have taken a snapshot of vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA.
  2. Log in to vRealize Lifecycle Manager VA.
  3. From the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Binary Mapping  and click Patch Binaries.
  4. Click UPLOAD and click SELECT FILE to upload the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager version 8.4.1 Patch 2 downloaded from VMware Patch Download Center.
  5. Once you upload the patch, navigate to Settings > System Patches.
  6. Click NEW PATCH, select the patch, and click NEXT.
  7. To install the patch, click INSTALL. Once the patch install is triggered successfully, vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager services are restarted and you are redirected to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI login page.

    Note: To verify your new patch, from the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > System Patches, and check Patch Details.

If the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA is connected to the Internet, perform the following steps.

  1. Verify that you have taken a snapshot of vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA.
  2. Log in to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA.
  3. From the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Binary Mapping  and click Patch Binaries.
  4. Click CHECK PATCHES ONLINE and once the request is complete, search for vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.4.1 patch and download the patch.
  5. Once you have downloaded the patch, navigate to Settings > System Patches.
  6. Click NEW PATCH, select the patch, and click NEXT.
  7. To install the patch, click INSTALL. Once the patch install is triggered successfully, vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager services are restarted and you are redirected to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI login page.

          Note: To verify your new patch, from the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings >System Patches, and check Patch Details.

Resolved Issues

  • Connecting vRealize Cloud license to vRealize Cloud Subscription Manager fails

    When connecting vRealize Cloud license to vRealize Cloud Subscription Manager, if vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager does not have the correct property URL set, the connection fails.

  • vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager does not send data to vRealize Cloud Subscription Manager

    vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager does not send data to vRealize Cloud Subscription Manager for HTTP proxy, after the HTTP proxy is set in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.

Known Issues

  • Procedure to update VMware Identity Manager Configuration Admin Password

    When you attempt to change the configuration admin password, you may encounter the LCMVIDM71091 error.

    Workaround:

    Perform one of the following workarounds:

    Option 1:

    1. Log in to VMware Identity Manager appliance and configure SMTP. For more information, see VMware Workspace ONE Access documentation.
    2. Navigate to the Configuration Admin user, and then click Update Password to reset the password. You will receive an email to reset the password. Provide the new password.
    3. Log in to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager, and then select Locker to add the new password. Run the inventory sync. If the password fails, enter the new password, and then retry the request.

    Option 2:

    1. Refer to the steps provided in KB 83586 to reset the password if SMTP is not an option.
    2. Log in to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager, and then select Locker to add the new password. Run the inventory sync. If the password fails, enter the new password, and then retry the request.
