- vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.6.1 Product Support Pack 1 supports vRealize Operations Manager version 8.6.2 and vRealize Log Insight version 8.6.2.
- vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.6.1 Product Support Pack 1 addresses CVE-2021-44228 and CVE-2021-45046 vulnerabilities by updating Log4j to version 2.17. For more information, see KB 87097. The workaround in KB 87097 is not required if vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.6.1 Product Support Pack 1 is applied and Log4j is updated to version 2.17.
Product Support Pack Installation Procedure
To install the PSPAK 1 when vRealize Lifecycle Manager is connected to the internet, perform the following steps:
- Verify that you have taken a snapshot of VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA.
- Log in to vRealize Lifecycle Manager VA.
- On the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.
- Select the Support for Additional Product Versions section. The vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager auto-populates the list of available support versions. If the list is not auto-populated, click CHECK SUPPORT PACKS ONLINE.
- When the list is populated, click Apply Version in Settings> Product Support Pack for the appropriate content version.
- Once the PSPAK 1 installation is triggered successfully, VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager services are restarted and you are redirected to VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI login page.
Note: To verify your new PSPAK 1, on the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack. The option lists the Policy 8.6.1.1, vRealize Operations Manager version 8.6.2, and vRealize Log Insight version 8.6.2.
To install PSPAK 1 when vRealize Lifecycle Manager is not connected to the internet, perform the following steps:
- Verify that you have taken a snapshot of VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA.
- Download the product support pack file from VMware Patch Download Center.
- Log in to vRealize Lifecycle Manager VA.
- On the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.
- Select the Support for Additional Product Versions section.
- To upload the downloaded product support pack file, click Upload and click SELECT FILE to select the .pspak1 file, and click Import.
- When the list is populated, click Apply Version in Settings> Product Support Pack for the appropriate content version.
- Once the PSPAK 1 installation is triggered successfully, VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager services are restarted and you are redirected to VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI login page.
Note: To verify your new PSPAK 1, on the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack. The option lists vRealize Operations Manager version 8.6.2 and vRealize Log Insight version 8.6.2.
After you have added the .pspak file successfully, refresh the UI.
To download the product support pack, visit VMware Patch Download Center, and then select vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager from the Product drop-down menu. Select vRLCM-8.6.1-PSPACK1, and then download vrlcm-8.6.1-PSPACK1.pspak.
