Support Pack Installation Instructions

To install a PSPAK when vRealize Lifecycle Manager is connected to the internet, perform the following steps:

  1. Verify that you have taken a snapshot of VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA.
  2. Log in to vRealize Lifecycle Manager VA.
  3. On the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.
  4. Select the Support for Additional Product Versions section. The vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager auto-populates the list of available support versions. If the list is not auto-populated, click CHECK SUPPORT PACKS ONLINE.
  5. When the list is populated, click Apply Version in Settings> Product Support Pack for the appropriate content version.
  6. Once the PSPAK installation is triggered successfully, VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager services are restarted and you are redirected to VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI login page.

Note: To verify vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.8.0 Product Support Pack 1, use the option policy 8.8.0.1, vRealize Automation version 8.8.1, vRealize Automation Salt Stack Config version 8.8.1, and vRealize Orchestrator 8.8.1.

To install PSPAK when vRealize Lifecycle Manager is not connected to the internet, perform the following steps:

  1. Verify that you have taken a snapshot of VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager VA.
  2. Download the product support pack file from VMware Patch Download Center.
  3. Log in to vRealize Lifecycle Manager VA.
  4. On the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.
  5. Select the Support for Additional Product Versions section.
  6. To upload the downloaded product support pack file, click Upload and click SELECT FILE to select the .pspak file, and click Import.
  7. When the list is populated, click Apply Version in Settings> Product Support Pack for the appropriate content version.
  8. Once the PSPAK installation is triggered successfully, VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager services are restarted and you are redirected to VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI login page.

Note: To verify your new PSPAK, on the Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.

After you have added the .pspak file successfully, refresh the UI.

To download the product support pack, visit VMware Patch Download Center, and select vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager from the product drop-down menu, and then download the product support pack.
