After you change the login credentials for your vCenter Server instance, vSphere Bitfusion might not be able to register the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in and validate your vCenter Server license.

Cause

vSphere Bitfusion uses your vCenter Server username and password for authentication and integration with vCenter Server. After you change the login credentials, for example for security reasons, the credentials are not automatically updated for the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in. vSphere Bitfusion attempts to register the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in and validate your vCenter Server license with the old credentials.

You must perform the following procedure for all vSphere Bitfusion servers.

Solution

  1. From the Hosts and Clusters view in vCenter Server, select the virtual machine (VM) of a vSphere Bitfusion server.
  2. Right-click the VM and select Power > Power Off.
  3. Update the vCenter Server user name and password that the vSphere Bitfusion server uses.
    1. On the Configure tab, select Settings > vApp Options.
    2. In the Properties pane, select the guestinfo.bitfusion.server.vcenter-username property and click Set Value.
    3. In the Set value dialog box, enter your vCenter Server user name and click OK.
    4. In the Properties pane, select the guestinfo.bitfusion.server.vcenter-password property and click Set Value.
    5. In the Set value dialog box, enter and confirm your vCenter Server password, and click OK.
  4. Right-click the VM of your vSphere Bitfusion server and select Power > Power On.
