vSphere Bitfusion clients with version 2.0.2 and earlier can still request GPUs after being deleted from the cluster.

Cause

After you delete a vSphere Bitfusion client version 2.0.2 and earlier by using the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in, the client can continue requesting GPUs from the vSphere Bitfusion servers.

Solution

  • If you activated the client by using the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in, in the virtual machine terminal of the vSphere Bitfusion client, run the following commands.
    1. vmtoolsd --cmd 'info-set guestinfo.bitfusion.client.accesstoken'
    2. rm ~/.bitfusion/client.yaml
  • If you activated the client by generating an authorization token, use the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in to revoke the token of the client.
  • Alternatively, you can upgrade your vSphere Bitfusion client and servers to the latest version. For more information, see Upgrading vSphere Bitfusion in the Installing VMware vSphere Bitfusion.

What to do next

Since vSphere Bitfusion 4.0, you can avoid this issue by deactivating your vSphere Bitfusion clients with version 2.0.2 and earlier, instead of deleting them.
