You can change advanced parameters for a virtual flash resource.

  1. In the vSphere Web Client, navigate to the host.
  2. Click the Configure tab.
  3. Under System, click Advanced System Settings.
  4. Select the setting to change and click the Edit button.

The system triggers the Host vFlash resource usage alarm when a virtual flash resource use exceeds the threshold. The default threshold is 80%. You can change the threshold to an appropriate value. The alarm is cleared when the virtual flash resource use drops below the threshold.

An ESXi host stores Flash Read Cache metadata in RAM. The default limit of total virtual machine cache size on the host is 2 TB. You can reconfigure this setting. You must restart the host for the new setting to take effect.

  5. Click OK.
