You can unregister storage providers that you do not use.

When you upgrade a storage provider to a later VASA version, you must unregister and reregister the provider. After registration, vCenter Server can detect and use the functionality of the later VASA version.

Note: You cannot manually unregister certain storage providers supplied by VMware, for example, vSAN storage providers.

Procedure

  1. Browse to vCenter Server in the vSphere Web Client navigator.
  2. Click the Configure tab, and click Storage Providers.
  3. From the list of storage providers, select the one you want to unregister and click the Unregister the selected storage provider () icon.

Results

vCenter Server closes the connection and removes the storage provider from its configuration.
