You can unregister storage providers that you do not use.
When you upgrade a storage provider to a later VASA version, you must unregister and reregister the provider. After registration, vCenter Server can detect and use the functionality of the later VASA version.
Note: You cannot manually unregister certain storage providers supplied by VMware, for example,
vSAN storage providers.
Procedure
- Browse to vCenter Server in the vSphere Web Client navigator.
- Click the Configure tab, and click Storage Providers.
- From the list of storage providers, select the one you want to unregister and click the Unregister the selected storage provider () icon.
