You can monitor the iSCSI target service to view the physical placement of iSCSI target components and to check for failed components. You also can monitor the health status of the iSCSI target service.

Prerequisites

Verify that you have enabled the vSAN iSCSI target service and created targets and LUNs.

Procedure

  • Browse to the vSAN cluster.
    Option Description
    vSphere Client
    1. Click Monitor and select Virtual Objects. iSCSI targets are listed on the page.
    2. Select a target and click View Placement Details. The Physical Placement shows where the data components of the target are located.
    3. Click Group components by host placement to view the hosts associated with the iSCSI data components.
    vSphere Web Client
    1. Click Monitor and select vSAN.
    2. Click iSCSI Targets. iSCSI targets and LUNs are listed at the top of the page.
    3. Click a target alias and view its status. The Physical Disk Placement tab at the bottom of the page shows where the data components of the target are located. The Compliance Failures tab shows failed components.
    4. Click a LUN and view its status. The Physical Disk Placement tab at the bottom of the page shows where the data components of the LUN are located. The Compliance Failures tab shows failed components.
