Resolved Issues

The resolved issues are grouped as follows.

Using Update Manager in the vSphere Client
  • In the vSphere Client, you see an Unexpected error occurred message in the Update tab of inventory objects

After a restart of the vpxd service, in the vSphere Client you might see an Unexpected error occurred message in the Updates tab of all inventory objects or in the vSphere Lifecycle Manager home view.

This issue is resolved in this release.

Known Issues

The known issues are grouped as follows.

Using Update Manager in the vSphere Client
  • In the vSphere Client, you cannot start upgrades of VMware Tools or VM hardware from the context menu of virtual machines

If you right-click on a virtual machine and navigate to Update Manager > Upgrade VMware Tools to Match Host, you might see an empty dialog box and cannot start VMware Tools upgrades. If you navigate to Update Manager > Upgrade VM Hardware to Match Host, you might also see an empty dialog box and fail to start upgrades.

Workaround: Navigate to Updates > VMware Tools or Updates > VM Hardware and click Enable on the VMware tools version upgrade must be enabled or VM hardware version upgrade must be enabled prompt. Then either start the upgrade from the current page or reopen the context menu and try again.

  • Hardware compatibility status of virtual machines with virtual hardware version 15 displays as Unknown

If you check the hardware compatibility status of virtual machines with virtual hardware version 15 from any inventory object in either the vSphere Web Client or vSphere Client, you see the status as Unknown.

    Workaround: None
