About ESXCLI

The ESXCLI command set allows you to run common system administration commands from any machine with network access to those systems. ESXCLI includes a set of host management commands. You can run most commands against a vCenter Server system and target any ESXi system that the vCenter Server system manages.

What's New in ESXCLI 7.0

New installers — This release adds Windows and Linux installers. The Linux installer replaces the standalone ESXCLI 6.7 U2 command package that required manual installation.

Updated libraries — This release includes updated libraries that provide security improvements.

Commands — The ESXi 7.0 release includes new commands that cover hardware, network, NVMe, RDMA, software, storage, system, and vSAN operations. You can run these ESXCLI commands only against ESXi 7.0 hosts.
