Refer to this topic to upgrade the version of the TKG Service.

Complete the following steps to upgrade the TKG Service version.

TKG Service version upgrade is performed at the Supervisor level. If vCenter Server is hosting multiple Supervisors, you need to select the target Supervisor.

Prerequisites

This task assumes you have upgraded all system components and installed TKG Service 3.0. See Installing TKG Service 3.0.

This task assumes you have registered a new version of the TKG Service, either manually or automatically.

Procedure

  1. Using the vSphere Client, log in to vCenter Server.
  2. Navigate to Workload Management > Services.
  3. Locate the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Service tile.
  4. Select Actions > Install on Supervisors.
  5. Select the target version of the TKG Service to upgrade to.
  6. Select the target Supervisor hosting the TKG Service you want to upgrade.
  7. Confirm service compatibility and click OK.
  8. Confirm that the TKG Service is upgraded.

    The tile at the Workload Management > Services page displays the TKG Service version and status. You can also check the status using kubectl get tkr. See Verify the TKG Service Status.
