This documentation provides you with information for managing the life cycle of TKG clusters on Supervisor in the vSphere IaaS control plane.
With TKG on Supervisor, you can provision different styles of workload clusters, including TKG clusters with well-defined defaults and Cluster Class clusters with broad definition options. By deploying Supervisor across vSphere Zones, you can provision highly available TKG clusters that support fault-tolerant workloads. The updated TKG release format natively integrates the Tanzu Package Repository and supports multiple operating systems. You can access and manage TKG clusters on Supervisor using vCenter Single Sign-On and the Kubernetes CLI Tools for vSphere or using an external identity provider and the Tanzu CLI.
Intended Audience
This documentation is intended for vSphere administrators and Kubernetes operators who want to provision and manage the life cycle of TKG clusters on Supervisor in the vSphere IaaS control plane.
Applicable vSphere and TKG Versions
Unless otherwise noted, this documentation applies to the vSphere 8 version of vSphere IaaS control plane and is updated to support TKG v3.x on Supervisor. Documenation updates are cumulative. Archived documentation for previous releases are available for download at the VMware documentation site under the heading Archive Packages.
