You might need to configure a virtual machine after you convert it so that it is ready to run in the destination virtual environment. You might also need to configure virtual machines if their virtual environment changes or if you need to improve their performance.
You can configure only VMware virtual machines that run Windows. You cannot configure virtual machines that run operating systems other than Windows.
Unlike the conversion process, which is nondestructive to the source machine, the configuration process affects the source. When you create a configuration job, your settings are applied to the configuration source machine and cannot be reverted.
