Supported Destination Types

With Converter Standalone, you can create virtual machines compatible with VMware hosted and managed products.

Managed Destinations

You can create a virtual machine to use with an unmanaged ESXi host or with an ESXi host that vCenter Server manages. For information on the compatibility between Converter Standalone and current or earlier versions of ESXi and vCenter Server, see VMware Product Interoperability Matrices.

Hosted Destinations

You can create a virtual machine for use with VMware Workstation or VMware Fusion. For information on the interoperability between Converter Standalone and VMware Workstation and VMware Fusion, see VMware Product Interoperability Matrices.

Note: Converter Standalone 6.3.x does not support Virtual Hardware versions above 11. For selected hardware versions above 11, features are limited to the features in version 11.
