The vCloud Usage Meter virtual machine time is not synchronized at OVF deployment, which can cause time reporting inconsistencies in your collections. You can change the time zone in the vCloud Usage Meter virtual machine console.
About this task
If you are migrating data from older vCloud Usage Meter versions, the time zone of the new vCloud Usage Meter appliance must match the time zone of the old instance to avoid report discrepancies.
A best practice to avoid connection timeout problems is to synchronize the vCloud Usage Meter with the time of the metered products.
Verify that the vCloud Usage Meter virtual machine is powered on.
- In the vSphere Web Client, start the vCloud Usage Meter remote console.
- Select Set Timezone and press Enter.
- Change your time zone.
- Log in as root.
- Type service tomcat restart to restart the Tomcat service.
- Type exit to return to the virtual machine console.
