Resolved Issues

  • The product consumption data for NSX Manager might be missing

If your NSX transport zone is configured with more than one host cluster, the product consumption data for NSX Manager might be missing from the Monthly Usage Report (MUR) or from the Virtual Machine History Report (VMHR).

  • Sending a test email to VMware to validate the updated settings for the outgoing email server fails

When you enable your email server to send emails over TLS, updating the outgoing email server configuration in the vCloud Usage Meter Web application fails with an Unable to send an email because of: Could not convert socket to TLS error message, and you cannot configure an outgoing email server.

The issue occurs because previous versions of vCloud Usage Meter use TLS 1.0 as the default TLS version, where TLS 1.0 is not supported by the email server.

  • vCloud Usage Meter cannot collect data from vCenter Server

On the Monitor tab in the vCloud Usage Meter Web application, you might see an error message that indicates that vCloud Usage Meter cannot collect consumption data from the registered vCenter Server instance.
Problem sending change sets: java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException: Futures timed out after [300000 milliseconds].

  • After the vRealize Operations Manager is decommissioned, virtual machines might still be reported as if vRealize Operations Manager manages them

In the VMHR, VMs are reported as managed by vRealize Operations Manager, even after vRealize Operations Manager is decommissioned and unregistered from the associated vCenter Server instance.

  • vCloud Usage Meter meters a vSAN instance with an advanced feature enabled as a Standard bundle instead of an Advanced bundle

In the MUR, the vSAN instances with an erasure coding feature or an IOPS Limit feature enabled are reported as a Standard bundle instead of an Advanced bundle.

Known Issues

See the vCloud Usage Meter 3.6 Release Notes, the vCloud Usage Meter 3.6.0.1 Release Notes, and the vCloud Usage Meter 3.6.1 Release Notes for Known Issues.
  • Tomcat service restarts automatically every hour

The Tomcat service in the vCloud Usage Meter appliance restarts automatically approximately every hour. In the um.log file you can see an information message:
VMware vCloud Usage Meter 3.6.1 Build 15866259 starting

Workaround: This issue is resolved in vCloud Usage Meter Hot Patch 5.
