The proper operation of vCloud Usage Meter depends on certain services and ports.
vCloud Usage Meter Services

Nginx | Automatic | Provides vCloud Usage Meter Web interface functionality. |
GW | Automatic | Authentication gateway service. |
Core | Automatic | A service for storing core information about the metered instances. The service is used only for internal communication. |
vmware-um-login | Automatic | An OAuth 2.1 authorization server for authentication of internal services. You cannot invoke the service outside the vCloud Usage Meter appliance. The service runs as a system daemon process. |
DSS | Automatic | A service for storing, archiving, and uploading of product consumption data to the VMware cloud. |
vmware-um-journal | Automatic | A service that keeps journal of all notifications in the vCloud Usage Meter appliance. You cannot invoke the service outside the vCloud Usage Meter appliance. The service runs as a system daemon process. |
nats-server | Automatic | A message bus between all services. The service is used only for internal communication. |
vmware-um-schedule | Automatic | A service that schedules and runs all the collectors for the vCloud Usage Meter appliance. You cannot invoke the service outside the vCloud Usage Meter appliance. The service runs as a system daemon process. |
um-agent | Automatic | A service that initiates a subsequent boot activities, such as starting the core vCloud Usage Meter services. |
