The deployment of the cloud extensibility proxy can fail because of a problem with the IP address configuration of the OpenFaaS gateway service.

The cloud extensibility proxy used for on-premises extensibility actions and vRealize Orchestrator 8.x integrations includes several infrastructure and application services that run in Kubernetes. Part of the cloud extensibility proxy deployment includes the assignment of IP addresses to these services. During deployment, one of the other Kubernetes services can obtain the IP address of the OpenFaaS gateway service. This results in the cloud extensibility proxy not deploying properly.

If the OpenFaaS IP configuration error occurs, you must delete the cloud extensibility proxy and redeploy it before you can begin creating and using on-premises extensibility actions or vRealize Orchestrator workflows.

Note: You can view a detailed log of the cloud extensibility proxy deployment in the deployExtensibility.log file stored in the /var/log directory of the cloud extensibility proxy virtual appliance.

Prerequisites

Download and deploy a cloud extensibility proxy in vCenter Server. See Download and deploy a cloud extensibility proxy.

Procedure

  1. Verify if the OpenFaaS gateway service IP address is configured properly.
    1. Log in to the cloud extensibility proxy command line over SSH as root.
You can log in to the command line by using a SSH-enabled shell and entering the IP address of the cloud extensibility proxy.
    2. Verify if the OpenFaaS gateway service is deployed properly and has a valid IP address by running the kubectl get services command.
kubectl get services --all-namespaces | grep openfaas
If the OpenFaaS gateway service does not have an assigned IP address, you must redeploy the cloud extensibility proxy.
  2. Redeploy the cloud extensibility proxy.
    1. Log in to your vSphere Client as an administrator.
    2. Select the host used to deploy the cloud extensibility proxy OVA.
    3. Power off the cloud extensibility proxy virtual machine and delete it from the disk.
    4. Redeploy the cloud extensibility proxy. See Download and deploy a cloud extensibility proxy.
Note: When redeploying the cloud extensibility proxy, you must generate a new authorization key in Cloud Assembly.
