You view the information related to vCenter Server categorized according to server hardware, OS licensing, maintenance, physical server labor, network, facilities, and additional costs.

Procedure

  1. Log in to vRealize Business for Cloud as an administrator at:
    • https://vRealize_Automation_host_name/vcac/org/tenant_URL (for the vRealize Automation integrated setup)

    • https://vRealize_Business_for_Cloud_host_name/itfm-cloud(for the vRealize Business for Cloud standalone setup)

  2. Click Business Management.
  3. Under Reports, click Data Sets.
  4. Click vCenter Server and select Servers.

    vRealize Business for Cloud displays server details such as server names and total monthly cost, infrastructure type, vCenter Server alias and the data center name for the server. Using the Deleted field, you can identify whether a server exists or deleted.

    Note:

    The Infrastructure Type field helps you to identify the physical servers and ESXi servers.

    Along with server details, vRealize Business for Cloud displays the server hardware details according to processor type, manufacturer, model name, speed of CPU in gigahertz, RAM in gigabyte, number of CPUs, CPU cores, cluster description, and launch date. vRealize Business for Cloud calculates and displays the total monthly cost of server hardware. vRealize Business for Cloud also displays the total loaded costs of servers that are running in your environment.

    Licensing costs

    Along with server details, vRealize Business for Cloud displays the operating system licensing details according to operating systems that are running on the virtual machines for a specific server and Windows desktop operating system. Operating system details for a specific server include sockets, cost for each socket, operating systems, Windows server cost, Red Hat cost, SUSE cost, and other operating system cost for the virtual machines that are running on this server. Windows desktop operating system details include desktop cost and total cost of Windows desktop. vRealize Business for Cloud calculates and displays the total license cost.

    Maintenance costs

    Along with server details, vRealize Business for Cloud displays the maintenance costs details according to hardware and software maintenance cost. vRealize Business for Cloud calculates and displays the total maintenance cost.

    Physical server labor Costs

    Along with server details, vRealize Business for Cloud displays the physical server labor costs details according to physical server labor hours and hourly cost. vRealize Business for Cloud calculates and displays the total labor cost.

    Network costs

    Along with server details, vRealize Business for Cloud displays the network cost details according to ports, cost for each port, and total network cost for 1 gigabit and 10 gigabit networks. vRealize Business for Cloud calculates and displays total network cost by adding the total networking cost for 1 gigabit and 10 gigabit networks.

    Facilities costs

    Along with server details, vRealize Business for Cloud displays details of rent, power, and cooling. vRealize Business for Cloud calculates and displays the total facilities cost.

    Additional Costs

    Along with server details, vRealize Business for Cloud displays the details of additional costs.
