You can view the details of all the virtual machines that are running in your environment such as the number of CPUs, CPU and RAM configured and reserved size, the vCenter Server information, size and cost of storage, virtual machine backup cost. Using the Deleted field, you can identify whether the virtual machine exists or deleted. The Infrastructure Type field helps you to identify the physical servers and vCenter Server virtual machines.

About this task

vRealize Business for Cloud displays the virtual machine details in a grid or in a vCenter Server folder.

Note:

The cost values are displayed as zero in the beginning of the month as there is no utilization on which cost can be computed.

Procedure

  1. Log in to vRealize Business for Cloud as an administrator at:
    • https://vRealize_Automation_host_name/vcac/org/tenant_URL (for the vRealize Automation integrated setup)

    • https://vRealize_Business_for_Cloud_host_name/itfm-cloud(for the vRealize Business for Cloud standalone setup)

  2. Click Business Management.
  3. Under Reports, click Data Sets.
  4. Click vCenter Server and select Virtual Machines.
  5. Select the way that you want to view the virtual machines report.

    Show VMs in vCenter Server folder structure

    Displays the virtual machines according to folder structure of vCenter Server where all the ESXi hosts are listed.

    Along with total monthly cost, vRealize Business for Cloud displays the details of the virtual machines, vCenter Server alias, and the name of the data center to which the virtual machine belongs. vRealize Business for Cloud considers the cost of each vSphere Data Protection (VDP) virtual machine that is used for backup service and the cost is uniformly distributed among other virtual machines that reside in the same vCenter Server.

    The icon helps you to differentiate non-ESXi physical servers from ESXi servers.
