Choose an authentication method for your deployment.
You can use three authentication methods with vRealize Log Insight: local authentication, VMware Identity Manager authentication, and Active Directory authentication. You can use more than one method in the same deployment. Users specify the type of authentication to use at log in.
Local authentication is a component of vRealize Log Insight. To use it, you create a local user and password that is stored on the vRealize Log Insight server. VMware Identity Manager and Active Directory must be enabled by a product administrator.
With VMware Identity Manager, users can share a single log in across VMware products and administrators can share groups. Active Directory credentials can also be authenticated through VMware Identity Manager provided Active Directory and VMware Identity Manager servers are synchronized.
