You can view the alert queries that you have created and check whether the notifications for these queries are enabled.

About this task

Use the User Alerts window as a starting point to view and manage the alerts that you have created as a user. From this window, you can monitor the activity of your alerts and view the alert history, and manage your alerts. You can perform the following: tasks:

  • Enable or disable all alerts or individual alerts

  • Sort alerts by alert name, owner name, or content pack

  • Change parameters for an alert

  • Delete an alert

Use the tooltip help for further information about each icon on the screen.


Alert queries are user specific. You can manage only your own alerts. You must be assigned a Super Admin role to manage other users alerts.

The value in the Last Hit column remains never until the first hit occurs.


Verify that you are logged in to the vRealize Log Insight Web user interface. The URL format is https://log_insight-host, where log_insight-host is the IP address or host name of the vRealize Log Insight virtual appliance.


  1. Click the configuration drop-down menu icon and select Administration.
  2. In the Management section on the menu on the left, click User Alerts.


You see a list of all your alert queries. The status of alert notifications is displayed under the name of the alert.

What to do next

You can click alert queries in the list to modify their parameters, or delete the queries that you no longer need.

Content pack alert queries are read-only. To save changes to a content pack alert, you have to save the alert to your custom content.
