Protecting the desired VMware Aria Automation components is like protecting any other vCenter Server machine.
You may choose to use vSphere Replication or array-based replication or a mix of both replication technologies.
Procedure
- Use vSphere Replication to protect VMware Aria Automation components
- In the vSphere Web Client, select a virtual machine on which you want to enable vSphere Replication and click Actions > All Site Recovery > Configure Replication.
- In the Replication type window, select Replicate to a vCenter Server and click Next.
- In the Target site window, select the vCenter Server for the recovery site and click Next.
- In the Replication server window, select a vSphere Replication server and click Next.
- In the VM validation window, click Next.
- In the Target location window, click Edit, select the target datastore - where the replicated files will be stored, and click Next.
- In the Recovery settings window, select the values for Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Point in time instances , and click Next.
- In the Protection Group window, select Do not add to protection group now option and click Next.
- In the Ready to complete window, verify the settings and click Finish.
- Repeat these steps for all virtual machines where you want to enable vSphere Replication.
- Use Array Based Replication to protect VMware Aria Automation components
- In the vSphere Web Client, click Site Recovery > Protection Groups.
- Select the Array-Based Replication protection group.
- In the Related Objects window, click Virtual Machines.
- if the status of the virtual machine is Not Configured or Mapping Missing, right-click the virtual machine and select Configure Protection.
- Select the required options on the VM Protection Properties window and click OK.
- To apply these mappings to all protected virtual machines on the site, select the Save as Inventory Mapping check box for each resource. If you do not select the check box, the mapping is applied only to the selected virtual machine.
- Click OK.
- Ensure the status of each virtual machine is changed to OK.
