Installation and Upgrade
For the supported upgrade paths for vSphere Replication, select Upgrade Path and VMware vSphere Replication in the VMware Product Interoperability Matrices.
You use the ISO file and the VRMS Appliance Management Interface to upgrade from vSphere Replication 8.2.x or 8.3.x to vSphere Replication 8.4.0.x.
If you are running vSphere Replication 8.4, upgrade to vSphere Replication 184.108.40.206. See Upgrading vSphere Replication in the VMware vSphere Replication Administration 8.4 for instructions about upgrading vSphere Replication.
If you use vSphere Replication with Site Recovery Manager 8.4.0.x, upgrade the vSphere Replication appliance to version 220.127.116.11. See the Site Recovery Manager 18.104.22.168 Release Notes for information about Site Recovery Manager 22.214.171.124.
Note: If you are upgrading from vSphere Replication 8.2.x or 8.3.x, you must configure a password for the admin account. See Step 12 of the procedure in Upgrade vSphere Replication Appliance.

After logging in the VRMS Appliance Management, the following unexpected error appears:
Cannot read property 'some' of null
Workaround: This issue is resolved in vSphere Replication 126.96.36.199
- NEW You cannot configure a replication for an encrypted VM
If you are running a vCenter Server version 6.7 and you try to configure a replication for an encrypted VM, the process fails with the following error:
Error: A runtime error occurred in the vSphere Replication Management Server. Exception details: 'there are VMCrypt keys not accessible at the destination site'.
Workaround: This issue is resolved in vSphere Replication 188.8.131.52.
