With vSphere Replication 9.0.1 and later you can configure an HTTP proxy for the Update Repository.

Prerequisites

Verify that you are using vSphere Replication 9.0.1 or later.

Procedure

  1. SSH to the vSphere Replication appliance.
  2. Navigate to /opt/vmware/dr/conf/ and open the drconfig.xml in a text editor.
  3. Add the following properties and save the file.
    <UpdateRepositoryProxy>
        <host></host>
        <port></port>
        <useSsl></useSsl>
        <thumbprint></thumbprint>
        <keystore></keystore>
     </UpdateRepositoryProxy>
    Sample new properties.
     <UpdateRepositoryProxy>
        <host>proxy.vmware.com</host>
        <port>3128</port>
        <useSsl>false</useSsl>
        <thumbprint></thumbprint>
        <keystore></keystore>
     </UpdateRepositoryProxy>

Results

When performing an upgrade, you will see the following logs in the drconfig.log file.
Option '/UpdateRepositoryProxy/host' using value 'proxy.vmware.com'
Option '/UpdateRepositoryProxy/port' using value '3128'
Attempting connection; <resolver p:0x00007f9554003c70, 'proxy.vmware.com:3128', next:<TCP 'XX.XXXX.XX.XX : 3128'>>, last e: 0(Success)
