You can view details of discovered components of a VM like process name, component type and version, application association.

Prerequisites

Introspect the VMs

Procedure

  1. Click Discovery from the main menu.
  2. On the left navigation page, go to Inventory > Components.

    You can see the discovered components for the VM.

  3. Click on the component name,

    • to see the component overview.

    • to add notes about the component.

  4. To edit component details, click on a three dots next to the component check box and click Edit Component.
    1. Enter a name to identify the component.
    2. Select the component type.
    3. Enter the version of the component.
    4. Select an application from the list to attach the component to an application.
      Note: You can select multiple applications to attach the component.
    5. Click Save.
  5. Click Add on the Notes field to add more information about the components.
    Also, you can also click the three dots next to the component name, and add notes.
    You can add multiple notes to a component.

    You see the count of notes in the field. Click on the count to see the notes details. You can edit and delete notes also.

  6. Click Attach Application to attach a component to an application.

    You can select multiple components together, and attach them to multiple application.
