You can take a backup of the database, appliance information, daemon.json file, introspection custom collector scripts and restore on a new appliance.
Procedure
- To take the backup,
- Navigate to the top right corner and click on the user name.
- Go to Administration.
- Click Appliance Lifecycle.
- On the Backup and Restore tab, click the Take Backup option.
The backup task triggers and when the process completes successfully, you see an entry in the list of backups.
Note: The backup files contains the build number, which you can use for restoring the appliance.
- To download the backup file, select a file from the list, and click Download.
You can use the downloaded backup file to restore into a new deployed appliance.
- To delete a specific backup file, select the file from the list and click Delete.
Note: You cannot restore the deleted backup files.
- To restore a backup file,
- Click Restore.
- Choose a backup file that you downloaded.
Note:
- The new deployed appliance must have the same OVF parameters. Only the Network properties can differ.
- This new deployed appliance must have the same build number and version as the appliance from where backup is taken.
- If you restore on an existing appliance, you will lose previous data and can see only the backup data.
- Provide the encryption password of the previous appliance from where backup is taken.
- Click Upload.
When the restore task completes successfully, the new appliance will be ready to use with the backup data by removing the previous data on the appliance.
